Why don't you sit down? And you friends, no matter how you sit down, you are not fit to be musicians

Analysis of the fable QUARTET (17:05:00 09/28/2015):
An analysis of the fable “Quartet” by Krylov shows that the work makes fun of people who are able to talk a lot about their perfection, but do not show it in practice. Only through the efforts made, the acquisition of experience and knowledge can a person succeed in his intended business. It is impossible to achieve success in life with empty promises.

Moral of the story - Quartet (10:08:00 02/14/2016):

“In any matter, always and everywhere, mental darkness is destructive, ignorance is dangerous. An ignoramus who takes on a task for which he has neither natural abilities, nor knowledge, nor skill ("Quartet")..." (D.I. Tikhomirov, “Selected fables of I. A. Krylov for schools and people,” edited by D. I. Tikhomirov, Moscow, printing house of M. G. Volchaninov, 1895)

Summary fables by I.A. Krylova - Quartet (21:10:00 09/23/2016):

In the fable "Quartet", a monkey, a donkey, a goat and a bear decide to play musical instruments. As soon as they start playing, they realize that they are not doing well at all. Then they begin to look for the reason, then they are sitting wrong, then they need to sit closer and many other ridiculous reasons. Of course, the whole reason is that neither of them knows how to play musical instruments. They didn’t take the lesson on their own, because to play well you need skill.

Analysis of the fable by I.A. Krylova - Quartet (17:09:00 02/28/2017):
Naturally, the fable has a hidden meaning and it is not at all about animals - musicians who have no hearing.

There is a version that in this way Krylov ridiculed royal power, which also had a lot of chatterboxes.
It also addresses ordinary people who in words can do a lot, but in reality - nothing. Self-confident people believe that any business they take on is tough for them. But that's not true. If there is no talent or skill in anything, then no matter how self-confident a person is, this will not give him the right to master any activity on an equal basis with professionals.

It is believed that he ridiculed the royal power because there are also many talkers among politicians. They say a lot of things and organize debates, but in turn they are not able to answer for their words and prove these words with actions. Krylov makes it clear that for the board it is not enough to simply occupy some kind of highest rank. To do this, you need to at least understand something about the business you are doing.

A striking example can be seen in the fable “The Donkey and the Nightingale.” There, too, the donkey did not understand singing and believed that the rooster sings better than the nightingale.

Such fables are well suited for children, as they childhood they love to show off. After reading the fable, they will understand that before you say something you need to think about whether you can actually do it.

Idioms fables by I.A. Krylova - Quartet (17:13:00 18/05/2017):

And you, friends, no matter how you sit down, you are not fit to be musicians.

To be a musician, you need skill.

MORAL OF THE FABLE QUARTET (18:27:00 12/09/2017):

The moral of the fable “Quartet” is that in any business, a person’s abilities, knowledge and experience are important. Without skill and an ear for music, the Bear (as well as the Donkey, Goat and Monkey) will not be able to become a good musician, even if he stocks up on notes and instruments. The same can be said about any other profession. The meaning of the fable "Quartet" is succinctly reflected in Russian folk proverb: “The master’s work is afraid.”

Winged expressions of the fable by I.A. Krylova - Quartet (14:16:00 09/11/2017):

The heroes of the fable “Quartet” decide to play music, but nothing comes of it. And they sit this way and that, but there’s no point. In fact, this was the case; the nobles had to change places several times and argue for a long time about who should manage which department. In the end, everyone sat down, seemingly as they should, but they were unable to do anything meaningful.

Finally, Nightingale comes to the aid of desperate animals; in Krylov’s understanding, these are ordinary people who see what the catch is. The main condition for the correct and harmonious playing of a quartet is the presence of talent among the musicians. Transferring everything to the State Council - the problem is the lack of professionalism among officials; none of them properly understood the area assigned to them. The fable “Quartet” became the source of a funny aphorism; it became the last words of the Nightingale that if you don’t sit down, you won’t become a musician without talent and you won’t be able to extract melody from the instrument. Krylov, on behalf of all sensible people and the people as a whole, is trying to convey a simple truth. But the bottom line is this: it’s not enough just to be from the upper class by birth; in order to manage government affairs and politics in general, you need a sharp mind, natural abilities and, of course, special education. The nobles about whom the fable “Quartet” narrates had none of the above.

Krylov's Fable: Quartet

Quartet - Krylov's fable
    Naughty Monkey,
    Donkey,
    Goat
    Yes, clubfooted Mishka
We decided to play a Quartet.
We got sheet music, bass, viola, two violins
And they sat down on the meadow under the sticky trees, -
Captivate the world with your art.
They hit the bows, they fight, but there’s no point.
“Stop, brothers, stop!” Monkey shouts. “Wait!”
How should the music go? That's not how you sit.
You and the bass, Mishenka, sit opposite the viola,
    I, the prima, will sit opposite the second;
Then the music will be different:
Our forest and mountains will dance!"
    We settled down and began the Quartet;
    He's still not getting along.
    “Wait, I found a secret!”
The Donkey shouts, “We’ll probably get along,”
Let's sit next to each other."
    They obeyed the Donkey: they sat down decorously in a row;
And yet the Quartet is not going well.
Now they're getting even more intense than ever
    And disputes
    Who should sit and how?
The Nightingale happened to fly to their noise.
Here everyone asks him to resolve their doubts.
“Perhaps,” they say, “take patience for an hour,
To put our Quartet in order:
And we have notes, and we have instruments,
Just tell us how to sit down!”
"To be a musician, you need skill
And your ears are gentler, -
    The Nightingale answers them, -
And you, friends, no matter how you sit down,
You're still not fit to be musicians."

Moral and analysis of the fable "Quartet".

At first glance, completely abstract images in the form of a Monkey, a goat, a Donkey and a Teddy Bear were dedicated to quite real events. The author thus expressed his dissatisfaction with the social activities four officials from different departments. But these are things of a long time ago. What’s surprising is that even after so many years, the fable has not lost its relevance. As it turned out, the years have passed, but people’s mentality has not changed much. Even now we often meet representatives of the human race who mind their own business. Moreover, believing with all their hearts that they are able to cope with it without the slightest preparation. Well, like our heroes. For some reason it was a revelation to them that musical instruments were not enough to create a musical group. You also need experience playing them. Of course, one can argue that the initiative present in the hero of the fable will ultimately lead them to success. After all, everyone knows that an idea can only succeed if you begin to implement it. Those who stop at the planning stage, in principle, cannot come to a logical conclusion. Therefore, if you superimpose the situation on modern society, then you can see positive aspects in it. Namely, proactive people who are not afraid of new tasks and experiments. These are the people who achieve success in modern society, which is what I would like to wish for the younger generation.
