Cyclamen homeopathy indications for use. Homeopathy cyclamen

From the memoirs of a homeopathic doctor

Many years ago Cyclamen had a quick healing effect on me, and since then I have kept memories of this remedy, which is often overlooked by colleagues in homeopathy. Cyclamen is known as a remedy for visual disorders. It has a quick and very effective curative effect when there are corresponding symptoms that can be caused and cured by this remedy. I will tell you about an incident that once made an indelible impression on me.

One morning, waking up and opening my eyes, I saw how the surrounding objects were in constant rotation; at the same time, massive furniture, such as a large wardrobe, seemed motionless. It was a very strange and painful state, but Cyclamen, which was at hand, instantly brought me to my senses.

We pay attention to the functional eye symptoms of Cyclamen; almost all of them have a “flickering” character: “flickering before the eyes, as from multi-colored shiny needles”; "cannot read due to burning and flickering before the eyes"; "dim, blurred vision; as if seeing things through fog or smoke ; diplopia".

The Encyclopedia of Medicinal Pathogenesis gives a detailed description of numerous cases accompanied by dizziness, visual disturbances, headache and sometimes vomiting of bitter, black, yellow or green masses (the latter symptom, apparently, is associated with the action of this remedy on the liver). This medicine was very often prescribed to women who were treated in a venereal hospital and suffered from menstrual disorders. In addition to colored reflections, diplopia and blurred vision of Cyclamen, dizziness is characteristic, in which the patient seems to have surrounding objects rotating in a circle or making oscillatory movements; or (as in my case) vertigo accompanied by a sensation as if the head were turning on its axis when the patient was lying in bed.

Cyclamen is known to have an effect on the cerebrospinal system, causing disorders of the sense organs, the eyes, the gastrointestinal tract and especially the female genital organs.

This remedy causes drawing or tearing pains in those parts where the bones are weakly covered with soft tissues.

In addition, it appears from the results of drug trials that Cyclamen may be useful in writing cramps.

Characteristic

This plant has traditionally been used for diseases of the uterus and appendages. Later homeopathic tests confirmed the drug's affinity for these organs. Cyclamen resembles Pulsatilla in many ways; the difference is that in Cyclamen there is no relief from fresh air, and there is no such frequent lack of thirst under various conditions. Cyclamen is suitable for people of a phlegmatic character, blond leukophlegmatic subjects with a tendency to chlorosis, unwilling to work and quickly tired; people with weakening or paralysis of the senses. Weakness and slow functioning of the body and mind.

Weakening of the senses; flashes before the eyes; strabismus, especially in combination with menstrual irregularities or fever; convergent strabismus after convulsions; the left eyeball looks inward. Amblyopia, diplopia, hemianopia. Many gastrointestinal symptoms; salty taste of saliva, which extends to all food eaten. The smallest amount of food causes a feeling of satiety; aversion to food, nausea in the region of the palate and thirst.

Desire for lemonade. Aversion to bread, butter, meat, fatty, beer, ordinary food; desire for inedible things; sardines. Frequent vomiting in the morning. Very pronounced hiccups. Hiccups during pregnancy. Complaints from the prostate gland with punctures and pressure, urge to defecate and urinate. Menstruation is premature, with their onset, the dreary mood and heaviness in the feet are somewhat reduced.

Scanty or suppressed menses, with headache and dizziness. During pregnancy: hiccups, aversion to food, nausea in the mouth and throat; complaints that occur after weaning the child from the breast. Pressive, drawing and tearing pains in places where the bones are close to the skin. Chills. Itching, leaving a sensation of numbness. frostbite; with itching and prickling, worse at night in bed. Eidherr from Vienna has published the most complete description of this remedy.

Hahnemann tested it only on men, identifying the following as the leading symptoms: “Depression, sluggish memory, dizziness, dull pressing headache, darkening of the eyes, dilated pupils, pulling pain in the neck and teeth; nausea, belching, aversion to food, hiccough, coming on shortly after dinner; stitching and spasmodic pain in the abdomen; flatulence and urge to urinate. Oppression of the chest, pressing pain in the chest, drawing and stitching in the back. Saw-pressing, drawing and stitching sensation in limbs; weakness and itching.

Gloomy, drowsiness, lethargy, heavy, bad dreams; chilliness all over body, alternating with heat, lack of thirst, unwillingness to work or socialize, great depression and melancholy; at times gaiety and vivid fantasies. The Vienna tests confirmed these symptoms, but since they were also carried out on women, characteristic manifestations of the female genital area were found. Menses profuse; more frequent; premature, accompanied by severe abdominal pain. Menses with pain like labor pains; with copious dark lumpy discharge. Resumption of menstruation after a long absence (clinical observation).

Eidherr's clinical experience illustrates well the scope of Cyclamen. He described 4 cases of chlorosis, 9 cases of delayed or scanty menstruation, 18 cases of dizziness and headache on the background of scanty menstruation, 2 cases of diplopia and one case of strabismus. In many cases, Cyclamen 15x and 3x have caused eye symptoms in patients. In one case, the administration of the same remedy in high dilution eliminated these symptoms.

Eidherr found that this drug had a more pronounced effect on blond phlegmatic subjects. (Although one of the cured patients was Jewish and apparently not a blonde.) It is worth noting that the "drowsiness, gloominess and lethargy", as well as dizziness, described by Hahnemann were quite pronounced in many cases of Eidherr.

Happening

Josepha K., aged 24, blonde with pale soft skin, pale lips and gums, had normal periods until the age of 22, when she got her feet wet on the first day of her period while walking in the country.

Allocations immediately stopped and resumed only ten months later after the increased use of all folk remedies. Since then, menstruation has been accompanied by severe pain in the abdomen, reminiscent of labor pains, lasting for eleven hours. Menstruation comes every two to four months, always accompanied by pain starting in the sacrum and extending from both sides of the abdomen to the pelvis.

The pains are intermittent, growing every two to five minutes, during which no blood is released; in the intervals between the resumption of pain there is a discharge, somewhat watery. Other symptoms included: slight swelling of the eyelids; pressing pain in the forehead; dizziness, often turning into fainting; chilliness of the whole body; poor unrefreshing sleep with nightmares; constant aversion to meat; desire for salted fish; frequent vomiting in the morning.

After a partial amelioration by Puis, the administration of Cyclamen cured the patient completely. At the same time, there were vivid symptoms from the eyes. The dizziness and headache did not change with Puis, but were quickly relieved by Cyclamen 15x. After their disappearance, bright dancing lights began to appear in the patient's field of vision upon awakening at night, and in the morning there was double vision. After that, she had a hallucination, as if another person was lying in bed with her, and his body was lying across her own. Two days after the withdrawal of Cyclamen, the visual disturbances ceased.

Another case: Anna F., 20 years old, blonde. Menses started at age 10. At the age of 17 she suffered from chlorosis; since then, menstruation is regular, but lasts one or two days and is quite moderate. The patient also suffers from attacks of vertigo and pressing pains in the forehead and temples; attacks are relieved by hot foot-baths with ashes. poor appetite; mild thirst; regular chair; too long sleep; constant sleepiness; depressed mood, gloominess; lethargy, slowness of all movements and speech; heartbeat. Appointment Puis, did not bring any result. Cyclamen 3x quickly eliminated headaches, dizziness and improved mood. On the third day of treatment, there was a slight darkening before the eyes and flashes appeared in the field of vision.

Third case: lively mobile girl, Jewish, 16 years old; after the first menstruation in June, they occurred twice more regularly, then after six weeks and in December they stopped altogether. She became gloomy, longed for solitude, took offense at the slightest provocation, became disgusted with her usual work, and could hardly bring herself to leave the house for a walk. She began to sleep unusually long in the morning. The previously blooming girl became pale, anemic, her eyelids began to swell; gums and lips turned pale; heartbeats started.

She complained chiefly of great debility, which compelled her to take frequent rests, even during the ordinary climbing of stairs; for unreasonable heartbeats; on fears and bad forebodings; she had a feeling that the room had become too small, yet she did not want to go outside. She rejected any offers of entertainment and only sat alone and cried.

Before noon she often had pressing pains in the forehead, with vertigo; poor appetite was noted; sluggish stool. March 14 was appointed Cyclamen 15x. After a few weeks, the attacks of headache and dizziness became less frequent and intense. On April 19, menstruation began, and with it, the headache and dizziness stopped completely. Almost a month later, on May 15, menstruation began again, quite abundant, after which the patient's condition completely returned to normal.

Two cases of catarrhal bronchitis are described, cured with Cyclamen; in both cases there was a pressing headache and dizziness, as well as scanty menstruation. Here is a case of migraine treated with Cyclamen. Teresa F., aged 37, menstruation is scanty and irregular (often at two to three month intervals). For four years the patient suffered from an extremely severe headache, covering the right side of the head and face; the pain recurred every 8-14 days, the attack lasted 12-36 hours. During menstruation, the attacks were especially strong. The patient looked emaciated; skin, lips and cheeks were pale. The right eye first closed due to a spasm of the eyelid, then opened with a stream of hot tears, after which it became normal.

Under the influence of Cyclamen 3, the symptoms decreased, but there were "flashes of sparks before the eyes", which persisted even after the complete disappearance of the headache attacks. With the constant intake of Cyclamen, menstruation became regular and quite plentiful, and the headache was completely stopped. Another case: a nursing mother, who had just weaned her child, suffered from incessant, severe stabbing pain in the temporal region, radiating to the top of her head. Pulsation of the temporal arteries.

Under the action of Bell, the headache was relieved, but there was dizziness. After taking Cyclamen 3x, both the headache and the dizziness disappeared, but the vision became so bad that the patient could hardly walk alone. The eye symptoms resolved spontaneously after discontinuation of the drug, and the headache did not recur. Cyclamen 15x cured a boy who had a very severe strabismus.

Six months earlier, he had fallen off the table, after which convulsions developed, followed by strabismus. After giving Arnica, the convulsions did not recur, but the strabismus remained. A few weeks after starting Cyclamen 15x, the strabismus disappeared (Wurmb cured one driver's strabismus with Cyclamen). Eidherr cured a case of acute rheumatism with this remedy, and the normal menstrual cycle was restored.

Next case very important and significant. Teresa, 30 years old, short, heavy build, never got sick until the age of 20. At this age, without any concomitant infection, she developed a rash all over her body with terrible itching. He was diagnosed with scabies and treated with sulfuric ointments. Simultaneously with the disappearance of the rash, her vision decreased so much that the patient could no longer walk without assistance. She could distinguish only the contours of large objects, and only in bright light; in the dimness of the room she could see nothing at all.

On examination, only a significant dilation of the pupils was noted. She never had a period. She complained of flushes every three to four weeks, combined with headache, oppressive dizziness, heaviness and frequent trembling in the legs, and pressure in the lower abdomen. For several months she had itching all over her body, especially intolerable at a time when she should have had her period.

However, no rash appeared on the skin. Sulfur 15x quickly relieved the skin symptoms; but three months later the patient reappeared complaining of a terrible headache and dizziness. Cyclamen 3x reduced both in four days. A week later, the patient reported that the headache and dizziness had stopped, but she saw "balls of fire constantly dancing before her eyes." Cyclamen 15x three times daily. After a few days, the fireballs stopped bothering her.

A few days later the menstruation came, with moderate pain in the abdomen, headache and dizziness, which then ceased at the same time. Since then, menstruation began on time and was quite plentiful, regular. According to Eidherr, her vision never recovered. Dr. George Royal of Iowa has published another case of using this remedy. A healthcare worker has been suffering from heel tenderness for three months. Apparently, the bone hurt; The pain worsened while sitting and standing.

When walking, it was not so pronounced. Rhus, Kali bi and Phos. ac. did not bring any result. Cyclamen 30 cured the patient within a week. In another, almost identical case, the pain was gone in three days. Following the unsuccessful appointment of Iris v. Cyclamen has cured a case of migraine with flickering before the eyes, aggravated only by getting up. In this case, the pain increased in intensity with the restoration of vision, so that the head seemed about to burst (Kali bi.). Itching and stitches worse at night in bed. Many symptoms are aggravated by rest and relieved by walking up and down.

Menstrual flow decreases in the sitting position. The pain in the back is aggravated by bending the shoulders forward and relieved by straightening them. Many symptoms are worse at night. Headache worse in open air, better cold water. Moisturizing the affected parts of the body and bathing bring relief. Worse from eating at night.

  • the drug is very effective for frequent hiccups;
  • acne in girls;

Psychological type Cyclamen (Cyclamen)

Cyclamen (Cyclamen) is suitable for phlegmatic, fair-haired phlegmatic subjects prone to chlorosis (a blood disease characterized by a lack of iron and disruption of the gonads). These people do not want to work, they quickly get tired. They have a weakening of the senses, general weakness of the body, slow work of the psyche and body.

Chilly, prone to tearfulness, overly irritable people correspond to the constitutional type. As a rule, these are female subjects, often experiencing depression. Source: flickr (naniani99).

Type Cyclamen (Cyclamen) is very similar to (Pulsatilla). The only difference is that Pulsatilla's thermoregulatory disturbances tend to be chilly, with marked improvement in outdoor exposure, unlike Cyclamen, which requires constant heat.

This type is characterized by diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, lesions of the mammary glands, visual impairment, hormonal pathologies with impaired functioning of the reproductive organs.

Impact on the body

The effect of the drug on the human body is closely related to the active substance cyclamine. The toxic effect of the drug is manifested on the mucous membranes of the gastrointestinal tract, the internal reproductive organs of female patients.

Side effects and contraindications

Note! Treatment with this drug can be carried out exclusively with the appointment and under the strict supervision of a homeopath.

Given the toxicity of the active substance cyclamine, this homeopathic medicine is not prescribed for children under seven years of age, as well as for patients during pregnancy and lactation.

In some cases, an allergic reaction on the face may be observed, and swelling of the mucous membranes may also occur.

At the first side symptoms, it is necessary to stop taking the medicine and see your doctor.

In case of an overdose, the following symptoms appear:

  • nausea sometimes with vomiting, sometimes accompanied by bloody discharge;
  • pain in the head;
  • dizziness;
  • occasionally, body temperature may rise.

In more severe cases of intoxication, seizures occur, malfunctions of the cardiovascular system, spasms in the bronchi, and even pulmonary edema.

Antidotes for Cyclamen are Pulsatilla (Pulsatilla), (Coffea) and (Camphora).
