Deciphering the Tarot card Manara "Strength"

Deciphering Tarot Cards » Major Arcana » Tarot card Manara "Strength"

General meaning:

expansion of the individual; capture, offensive, personal activity. Strength and energy in a wide variety of manifestations, which, however, cannot find a worthy application. Unshakable self-confidence.

Courage, activity, firmness, vigor, "one great passion." But also disproportion, discrepancy. The card may indicate a clear inequality between partners - this may be physiological, age, emotional, intellectual, social, etc. incompatibility.

State: A man takes aim at a very attractive piece, but, unfortunately, he cannot take possession of the object of his desire. A power that has no worthy use. In order to control emotions, you need a lot of internal energy, the power of the mind.

Characteristics of relationships, feelings: The relationship of two very different people. They want to be together, but this is impossible for many reasons that “crawl out” at the first attempt to get closer. One of them has a desire to get a partner by force, to possess him at all costs, to “feed” at his expense. Small, insignificant little things that, with the development of relationships, can grow into colossal problems.

Feelings: A very emotional and sexual card. Man has great potential. However, all the energy remains unclaimed, feelings - unsatisfied and useless. Greed. Painful hopeless passion. It seems that there are so many feelings that they cover the whole world. But the world and, most importantly, the partner, alas, for some reason remains deaf and indifferent to the cry of the soul of the questioner.

The physical state: Sexual incompatibility, temperament difference.

Advice: It's not about winning, it's about participating. Even if the forces are not equal, do not miss the chance. “I won’t catch up, so at least I’ll warm up.” Of course, you will get something from this connection - at least just a new experience.

A warning: A goal set too high or an impossible task. Before you get involved, calculate whether you have enough strength. Can you cope with such a partner, do you match him?

Positive aspect of the card: The positive feature of this situation is that the person has good potential. However, the time for its disclosure has not yet come, and a lot of work will still have to be done on oneself so that the power hidden in the person himself can manifest itself in the outside world.

Negative aspect of the card: The negative feature is that a person chooses tasks and people for communication that do not correspond to him. And every time, having suffered a fiasco, he rushes to conquer the peaks again, missing real chances and opportunities.

The development of the situation in a positive sense: A positive trend in the development of the situation is that a person learns from his mistakes. His failures make him wiser and stronger, tempering his spirit and flesh. Each time he rises higher and higher in the development of his capabilities.

The development of the situation in a negative sense: The negative aspect of the situation is that colloquially sounds like "break your neck". A person goes to ensure that his next adventure ends badly for him and leads to a complete failure. The position of the card means powerlessness, both literally and figuratively.

The Strength card is in a sense akin to the Mage card. Just as in it, the extraordinary power of this Arcana is based on deep inner harmony. If the power of the Magician is the result of a harmonious interaction of consciousness and subconsciousness, then the vitality, courage and passion of this card is an expression of the balance that a civilized person finds with his animal nature. This is also reflected in myths, for example, about the friendship between Gilgamesh and Enkidu, who was at first his implacable opponent. This card clearly shows that our goal is not to learn how to hide our instincts under the cover of pale virtue, sometimes archaic, scary forces that live in us, but to learn how to tame them with love, gentleness and perseverance. In this way, we will acquire control not only over these wild natural forces, but also over the reserves of energy that we have until now had to spend on suppressing these forces.

Work

This card means that we give all our strength to the cause and work "not for fear, but for conscience." When we are in good physical shape, we take on a task with courage and enthusiasm, and, having achieved success, we are happy to find that our strength has only increased. Thus, the card of Strength corresponds to the period of the highest creative upsurge, an ardent desire to work, and thus both joy and success.

Consciousness

At this level, the card indicates the onset of significant changes, which the alchemical symbolism depicted on it helps to understand. The red lion in alchemy means the means by which various lower substances are turned into gold. As applied to man, this means the task before us: not to reject or suppress the forces in ourselves, so often called "lower instincts", but to "remove" the enmity between our civilized consciousness and animal nature. Moreover, "remove" in a threefold sense: 1) remove this enmity as a problem from the agenda; 2) "remove" these forces in the sense of "hiring" them, making them their employees; and, 3) as the dialectic teaches, "remove" them as opposites at this level, in order to transfer them to another, higher one, where they will stop fighting with each other, but will unite into a new, irresistible force.

Personal relationships and love

First of all, it is passion. It manifests itself in relationships characterized by liveliness, hot temperament, and sometimes dramatic skirmishes. Such unions are an inexhaustible source of energy and strength that we need in everyday life, although there are times when these skirmishes have tragic consequences - take Carmen and Don José from the famous opera by J. Bizet.

inner meaning

Before you test of endurance. If your will is stronger than the will of the enemy, you will survive and win. If not - the end of your dreams. Strength of mind is your key to victory. Don't give in to despair. The battle will not be easy, but you can win if you show perseverance. You will only lose by choosing to give up.

The Strength Tarot card means the inner strength needed to overcome the obstacles that stand in your way. Brute force is not defeated by brute force, rather, the strength of the spirit overpowers physical strength. In almost all legends about people who defeated a formidable monster, whether it be a lion, a dragon, or someone else, victory was won by being right, internal fortitude and faith in God, and not by power.

The beast on the tarot card Strength symbolizes the external obstacles that stand in the way of your spiritual development. Perhaps this is a symbol of the beast within you, a symbol of your own fears, passions and other qualities that may be stronger than you. But you can change and tame them if you firmly believe that you are stronger. The lion symbolizes a strong enemy that can be defeated if you have self-confidence and the will to win. (Only one make-up artist: anyone who quit smoking or went on a strict diet has already defeated such a beast). The allegory here, as already said, is in the struggle between the physical and the spiritual. You are on the path of spiritual improvement. To reach distance, you must overcome or subdue base passions and force them to surrender.

Description of the lasso

This card depicts a small wild flower that has met the challenge of rocks and stones on its way to the light of day. Surrounded by a halo of bright golden light, he reveals the majesty of his tiny being. Shameless, he is like the brightest sun.

Direct position

When we are faced with a very difficult situation, we have a choice: we can either get offended and try to find someone or something to blame for our difficulties, or we can meet the challenge and grow. The flower shows us how the passion for life brings it out of darkness into light. You don't have to fight life's challenges or try to avoid or deny them. They are there, and we have to go through them like a seed that has to become a flower. Be brave to grow into the flower you need to be.

The meaning of the card

The seed cannot know what is going to happen, the seed has never known the flower. And the seed may not even believe that it has the ability to turn into a beautiful flower. The path is long and it is always safer not to go on it, because the path is unknown, nothing is guaranteed. Nothing can be guaranteed. A thousand and one dangers, traps of the path - and the grain is safe, hidden under a solid core. But the seed tries, it makes an effort, it throws off the shell that gives it security, it starts to move. And immediately the struggle begins: the struggle with soil, stones, rocks. The grain was hard, but the shoot will be very soft and many dangers await. Nothing threatened the grain, it could be stored for thousands of years, but much is dangerous for escape. Escape strives towards the unknown, towards the sun, towards the source of light, not knowing where and not knowing why. The great is the cross to be carried, but the seed has been embraced by a dream, and it is moving. Such is the way of man. It's difficult. It takes a lot of courage. (Osho)

The woman boldly opens her mouth to a lion-like creature that tries to resist her. The being looks stunned and the strength required by the woman is minimal, demonstrating the true inner strength she possesses. The woman is wearing a large hat, having the same shape of the number 8 in a horizontal position, which covers the head of the Magician and indicates eternal and infinite power. The wide-brimmed hat also suggests a combination of conscious and unconscious thinking, resulting in a powerful man of great physical and intellectual strength. The lion-like creature depicts the influence of external forces to which a woman is subjected and which serve as a warning to the words and actions of other people. The lion is also a symbol of temptations that may appear and over which tight control and determination are needed. Although the Strength card bears the image of a woman, it represents all of humanity and the success that it can achieve through the strength of its beliefs, tireless efforts.

Value for divination

This card symbolizes strength. In a series of values there are also such. Courage. Bravery. Firm faith. Energy. Determination. Hardness. Call. Action. Awareness of temptation and the mental and physical abilities to overcome it. Confidence. innate ability. Zeal. Zeal. Physical strength. The superiority of matter over mind, or mind over matter, as the case may be. Success. Achievement in significant danger. Conquest. The work of hidden forces that are challenged. Heroism. Masculinity. Strength to endure the test, despite all obstacles. Relentless efforts. The victory of love over hate. Liberation.

Reversed value

Weakness. Pettiness. Impotence. Disease. Tyranny. Lack of faith. Abuse of power. The ability to give in to temptation. Indifference.

The card of Strength (VIII), one of the four Aristotelian virtues, occupies the 11th place in some sets: then the eighth is considered the card of Justice. We will stick to the modern order.
The Strength card, also called the (Tamed) Lion card, depicts a woman playing with a lion. On her head is a wreath of flowers, another wreath forms a belt. Above the woman's head is often placed a "lying eight", a symbol of infinity. The lion also plays: he is calm, his tail is tucked in, although all four paws firmly rest on the ground.
This card represents strength, but soft, feminine strength. It is the woman who helps the lion to truly feel like a lion. Although the card depicts two opposites, they exist separately, not merging with each other, but retaining their original nature. This card is reminiscent of Tantra - the teaching of the feminine as a source of global and individual energy.
The Strength card opens the second septenary of the Major Arcana. It begins a new stage of the journey. If before everything seemed so understandable and clear, now the future seems vague, and the present is ambiguous. Things have become symbols. The mind is not able to penetrate into their essence. Only the subconscious mind can understand the true meaning of symbols, you just need to learn to trust it.

Meaning of the card:
Do not think that the mind is the main part of your personality. Do not forget about your body, about its desires. Take care of him, let him accumulate enough energy to support the mind, and then the mind will be able to overcome the doubts that overcome it and give vent to the subconscious, which, perhaps, is the only one that can show you the right path forward.
In the layout, it denotes the opportunity to succeed and the advice to act gently, unobtrusively. Women are also advised to behave smarter in relationships with a partner, answering everything: “Yes, dear, of course,” and doing it their own way, and not going into unnecessary disputes. Men - find a woman who will help them become self-confident.
For people who are too fond of spiritual quests, asceticism, or simply armchair scientists, she recommends remembering your physical body, which needs to be exercised, fed and pampered with other joys of life.

Inverted:
It means the inability or inability to act gently, to find a way of harmonious coexistence with another person, hence the high probability of failure of the planned enterprise.
People who are fond of the joys of life are reminded of the need for spiritual quests and / or serious scientific work.

For businessmen:
If danger threatens, it is better to unite as soon as possible, or at least agree on joint actions with some large firm, perhaps even with a competitor.

Strength reflects your need to direct your energies towards positive goals.

Courage, strength and determination are necessary for us to meet and make contact with our "inner lion".

Courage. Self-confidence. internal resources.

There has been much controversy over the numbering of this map. In some decks, Strength (which is one of the four moral principles) is numbered "8" and Judgment is numbered "11", while more modern decks use a different numbering. Strength is often depicted as a man or woman clutching the mane of a ferocious lion. This card encourages us to contain the wild beast in us and direct our passionate impulses in the right direction. At the same time, it is up to us to choose whether we will act in the name of creation or destruction.

Symbolism

The lion on this card signifies the strength of our instincts and desires. It is a symbol not only of the destructive impulses of our soul, but also of our innate dignity and nobility. Strength is an illustration of our desire to reconcile and curb the opposing forces within us, the image of which we saw on the Chariot card, so that we can recognize and control them in time. Suppressing or denying these aspects of the self, or limply surrendering to their will, can be equally detrimental. Ideally, it would be to restore balance by directing the stormy energy of these passions into the channel of positive and creative activity. Strength suggests that only by integrating our unconscious impulses can we become aware of them and know ourselves better. In a positive sense, the Force provides an opportunity to reconcile the destructive forces acting both within us and in the world around us. In a negative sense, this card reflects what happens if we succumb to unhealthy passions or allow ourselves to abuse our power. At the same time, we learn from experience (paradoxically, but a fact) that the combination of such far from our best qualities as anger and selfishness strengthens our self-consciousness rather than weakens it.

Interpretation

The choice of this card means that you need strength and courage to acquire the ability to control yourself. Using your willpower, you are able to overcome obstacles and learn to control your actions. If you are going to be successful in this area, then you must be sure that you will cope with your problems. After all, choosing this card means that you have the necessary strength to confront your problems, but you need to strengthen faith in your abilities. It is important that you be able to recognize those shortcomings that weaken your will and make every effort to reduce their negative impact on your life. Fortunately, you have the necessary strength to pursue your goal until you achieve the desired result. You must realize that you are able to cope with the emotions that overwhelm you and find a worthy use for them. Once you learn how to curb your impulses, you can direct them to achieve creative goals.

Democritus

Description of the card and its inner meaning
The morning sun brightly illuminates the green meadow. There, on the horizon, the peaks of the mountains are visible, and here, in the foreground, a girl is depicted (on some decks, the girl is indoors). There is a lion next to her. And, looking at him, one can hardly believe that this animal is the king of beasts, because the once formidable predator now behaves like a small kitten.

The lion rises on its hind legs, its head is laid back, and the girl playfully opens its mouth to it. Perhaps the lion does not really like this treatment - his body is tense, and his tail hits the ground, but he completely submits to the girl, knowing full well that no fight will help him. And the girl, as if jokingly, opens the mouth of the animal, without thinking about the consequences. She doesn't even seem to pay attention to it - her gaze is directed to the side.

Thus, we can conclude that the eighth Arcana (in some decks it goes at number eleven) is a reflection of infinite strength and power. From this point of view, it can be compared with the first Arcana. Just as the Magus card is a teaching about the Deity, whose Strength and Power govern reality, so the Strength card is a teaching about cosmic energy as the basis of the Universe. As the pose of the Magician expresses independence, so the figure of the girl demonstrates the greatness of the Cosmos. Look at these cards - both show the symbol of infinity, which is the main attribute of the Higher Power.

The eighth Arcana symbolizes the inner strength necessary to overcome the obstacles that stand in the way of life. The girl who controls the lion is the personification of willpower, inner power, Higher energy, which does not require activity on the lower plane for its manifestation.

The beast symbolizes the external manifestation of the power that has stood in the way of spiritual development. The lion can also represent the contradictions within us. It can be both fears and passions... But there is a chance to change and tame them.

Basically, this card speaks of a struggle between the spiritual and the physical. If you follow the path of spiritual self-improvement, you must overcome or subdue base passions and various kinds of temptations that will try to make you turn off this path.

Card meaning
Direct position
The card tells about a person who is able to lead the masses of people, about a person who is confident in his innocence. This is likely to be a hidden, informal leader. The eighth Arcana more often describes a woman, not a man.

If we are talking about a situation, and not about a person, then the Strength card has the following meanings: energy, ambition, any manifestation of strength, will, success, ambition, optimism, goal achievement, respect from others. Sometimes the eighth Arcana has such interpretations: artistry, good health.

Reversed position
If the card in an inverted position describes a person, then a dangerous competitor, an ill-wisher, who, relying on his like-minded people, can deal a crushing blow, will appear before the Questioner.

The situation described by this Arcanum can be characterized by the words: selfishness, complacency, despotism and abuse of one's position, or, conversely, weakness, self-doubt.

For the Questioner, the time of testing has come. If he can go to the end and not turn off his path, then he is guaranteed a complete victory. Difficult times are expected, but the willpower of the Questioner will provide him with a path to success.

On this map, Leo symbolizes passion, but in order for passion to be effective, it must be tamed, pacified, aimed in the right direction and not allowed to turn off it. Your energy must be transformed into force. Sometimes you have to follow your emotions. Too much suppression of feelings leads to unhappiness. However, here, as in any business, the main thing is moderation. The woman in the picture made friends with the lion. You can control your passions only by understanding them. You see a halo above the woman's head in the form of the number 8. This symbol means that all battles in life are transient. Years later, you won't even remember what's bothering you now. This card primarily denotes willpower, that is, the ability to perform the necessary actions to achieve the desired goal. If something seems like an impossible task, don't let it scare you. The path may not be easy and thorny, but you should remain steadfast until you reach what you are striving for. Remember: a loser is one who doesn't try.

Questions to ask yourself if you have drawn the Force
  • What is your strength? How and where do you send it?
  • Do you (or someone you know) need strong love right now?
  • Do you feel like you're losing - or winning?
  • What is the best way to tame a wild beast?
  • When does your strength become weakness? When does weakness become strength?
  • Are you a hero or a victim?

In the evenings, for the most part, she sat at home, because she was terribly embarrassed by her inflamed face and could not bring herself to see anyone at least - she was ashamed. What could be done here? The Power card showed that Renata would be able to overcome her embarrassment and return to a fulfilling life. This card shows the power to withstand adversity. Description

Arcana "Strength" some researchers put at number eight, swapping places with the Arcana "Justice". But we consider it right to leave it in its usual place, because only those who have learned to be fair and prudent, having passed the eighth and ninth steps, could calmly accept a smile and a blow of fate in the Tenth Arcanum, can become truly strong.

Usually this card depicts a woman taming a ferocious lion, but we are using images born in ancient Egypt, there is no need to resort to such complex allegories. There is a character in the Egyptian pantheon who is simply the personification of the Strength Arcana. This is the great lioness goddess Sekhmet.

Mythological dossier

Sekhmet, Sokhmet (mighty), is the goddess of war and the scorching sun. Depicted as a woman with the head of a lioness. Beloved daughter of Ra (his formidable eye), wife of Ptah, mother of Nefertum. In the myth of Ra's punishment of the human race for sins, it is Sekhmet who exterminates people. She destroys the enemies of Ra and Osiris. Together with Uto and Nekhbet, she guards the pharaoh. Her appearance terrifies the enemy, and the flame of her breath destroys everything. Sekhmet also possessed magical powers, she could send a terrible disease, but she could also heal her. She was revered as a goddess-healer - doctors in the era of the Old Kingdom were her priests. Identified with Uto and Nekhbet.

The carmine-red background of the card immediately speaks of fire and passion, which is not easy to drown out. But it can be extinguished and tamed by the blue color of the mind, like red-hot iron, which cools when quenched with water. A formidable lion-headed goddess sits on a golden throne. She is wearing a sky blue dress and wig that speaks of serenity and thoughtfulness. The solar disk with a uraeus on the head of the goddess is not only a common attribute of Sekhmet, but also a symbol of Ra as the highest knowledge and justice. The golden scales and even geometric stripes on the throne and wand of the goddess symbolize internal order and balance. Even the kite Nekhbet, accompanying Sekhmet as her airy incarnation, this time has a calm blue-blue plumage. Everything that we see on the map speaks not only of a force capable of defeating any external enemy - it is a self-confident force capable of defeating a wild beast within itself. This is a symbol of your passions and your fears, those of your qualities that turn you into a slave and make you turn off the path of spiritual growth. Defeating your animal instincts, base passions and vicious desires is often much more difficult than any sworn enemies. The very beast-headed appearance of Sekhmet and other Egyptian gods, which has preserved traces of totemism, speaks of the deep roots of our instinctive nature and the complexity of reflecting this beginning.

Value in the layout
In a straight position

Arcana "Strength" means courage, the struggle with the vicissitudes of fate, creative efforts and the interaction of mental and emotional forces. The ability to curb passions. Symbolizes good health and well-being, both physical and mental. Willpower, courage, determination, energy. The ability to quickly offer help, achieving the goal due to the respect of others. The lasso speaks of your self-knowledge and self-improvement, of patience and the ability for spiritual love.

The person to whom this card fell out will have the strength not only to make plans, but also to fulfill them. He is self-confident, able to wait and endure, knows how to control his instincts. Power, courage, courage, energy and self-discipline are inherent in him - these are the main characteristics of the card.

Advice. If the card fell to a woman, then during this period she should not become a leader in relations with a partner: it is better to agree with her beloved in everything, but you can do it your own way.

In an inverted position

The card represents a person who is subject to his fears or weaknesses, whose energy is wasted.

An inverted card symbolizes self-doubt, weakness, indecision, compliance. Can talk about poor health or illness. About the excessive interference of others in your life. In some cases, it means that intentions are doomed to failure or abandoned due to fear of difficulties. Indicates that you are not able to understand yourself and accept yourself as you are. He speaks of despotism, a strong temper, as well as weakness and illness.

In the sphere of the psyche, it symbolizes a feeling of powerlessness and helplessness.

Advice. Unfortunately, you have ignored the voice of wisdom. Making the right decisions is impossible if you do not listen to your inner voice. Try to restore the balance between the physical and spiritual spheres of life. Alternate intellectual activities with physical activity, and periods of strict diets with stomach holidays.

The Strength card symbolizes the inner strength needed to overcome obstacles in your path.

Strength (Strength) corresponds to the number eleven and the Hebrew letter Kaph.

Comment. Waite and Gray put this card at number 8, and Justice at number 11. In most old decks, this card is number 11.

Allegory

Overcoming obstacles. Spiritual strength and willpower. Victory over unforeseen circumstances.

Description

Most decks depict a young woman wrestling with a lion; she fights with her bare hands and wins. In some decks, she squeezes the jaws of a lion or tears open his mouth. One way or another, she forces the lion to act according to her will, and not according to his own. In such decks, an infinity symbol is depicted above the woman's head; sometimes it is depicted on her headdress.

Few decks depict a strong young man fighting a lion with his bare hands; perhaps this is the figure of Hercules or Samson. In such cases, the man's club lies at his feet; lost or thrown away, he defeats the lion with his bare hands. Sometimes he tears open the lion's mouth.

Where a man wrestles with a lion, the battle is in full swing; it can end in victory or death. Where a woman is depicted, it often seems that she is not so much fighting as taming him with the violent force of her will.

In any case, this is the image of a loner, defeating a much more powerful opponent with no weapons other than his own stamina and determination.

inner meaning

This card symbolizes the inner strength needed to overcome the obstacles that stand in your way. Brute force is not defeated by brute force, rather, the strength of the spirit overpowers physical strength. In almost all legends about people who defeated a formidable monster, whether it be a lion, a dragon, or someone else, victory was won by being right, internal fortitude and faith in God, and not by power.

Apparently, in this case, the beast symbolizes external obstacles that have stood in the way of your spiritual development. (Just one example: Anyone who has quit smoking or gone on a strict diet has already beaten that beast.)

The allegory here, as already said, is in the struggle between the physical and the spiritual. You are on the path of spiritual improvement. To achieve your goal, you must overcome or subdue the base passions and make them surrender.

Value in the layout

Direct or Positive: Willpower, moral strength. Life force. Courage, triumph. Persistence, determination, energy, fearlessness. The ability to overcome difficulties. Success.

Reversed or Negative: Abuse of power, despotism. Failure, disgrace. Weakness (physical and spiritual), strife, lack of harmony.

Before you test of endurance. If your will is stronger than the will of the enemy, you will survive and win. If not - the end of your dreams. Strength of mind is your key to victory. Don't give in to despair. If this card represents the Questioner, then this person will have to test his own will and determination. The battle will not be easy, but you can win if you show perseverance. You will only lose by choosing to give up.

Strength is a virtue that helps to keep our fears in check and temper our daring impulses so that we can face danger without losing our heads. It's a balance between fear and recklessness. Perhaps you are now working with your emotions, trying to tame your instincts and face what threatens to devour you. You develop self-confidence through discovering the "power within" - instead of trying to "bend" the external situation, as in The Chariot. No matter how wild and confusing the instincts of your inner nature may look, they must be accepted and respected, for they are what give courage, self-confidence, patience and perseverance. Perhaps right now you are struggling with a problem that requires just such tenacity to solve. Perhaps you should show the generosity of a lion. You are overwhelmed by strong desires or sexual passion. If your survival instincts are working properly, use your mind and will to control your impulses. On the other hand, sometimes it is anger and rage that can provide the strength needed for healing change.

Among other things, this card speaks of connections and bonds. As a good attentive listener, you can encourage and support others. It is in your power to relieve pain and pacify anger, using the power of love and kind understanding. Combining passionate devotion with gentle leadership and loving direction, you will help a person or yourself to deal with a crisis calmly and confidently, and in doing so, tame the wild beast. Like the sorceress depicted on the card, you can tame raw energy and use it to achieve success. The passion for life and the courage to live with an open heart can give you the power to express your unique creative gift.

Sometimes the card indicates a love for animals, especially cats, or work related to them. It can also show the relationship between the cultural and the savage. Perhaps you now need firmness of will, strength of character, clarity of thought and intentions. Or maybe you just have to use your physical strength for some business. Remember that sexual energy can be a vehicle for creative transformation.

Traditional meanings: strength, energy, stamina, courage, power, might, ability. Tenacity, endurance. Authority, persuasion, command. Greatness. Patience, calm. Zeal, passion. Spiritual energy. Subjugation of passions. The primacy of spirit over matter.

Reversed Power

Reversed Strength can indicate that you are either afraid of your passions, aspirations and instincts, or, on the contrary, are too brave and daring. Perhaps you suffer from the fragmentation of your "I", from the internal conflict of intellect and instincts, cultural and rude. If you are not in touch with your own heart, the struggle can be unbearable. Forces beyond your control can take over you.

On the other hand, you may be using your power to subjugate or dominate others. Or you are too shy and submissive and only fawn and wag your tail, like a dog beaten by the owner. In this case, the inverted Force speaks of the establishment of some kind of internal hierarchy and order of subordination. It may seem like a cat-and-mouse game, but it actually hides an inner cruelty. Passions either get out of hand or are repressed and recklessly denied. And repressed feelings usually go sideways and manifest themselves in the most inappropriate way. These can be failures, certain manifestations of cowardice, personal weakness and impotence, or, conversely, haste, recklessness, excessive pride and self-confidence. Someone once defined evil as the mishandling of instincts. You may overestimate your abilities, set yourself impossible tasks, and persist where it would be better to back down. Or maybe you are inactive out of fear of doing something wrong and ruining the situation even more. You can become fickle, changeable and unreliable.

It may also be something like taking a cat out of a bag - not in the sense of revealing mysteries and secrets, but rather releasing a power that should have been, but for one reason or another, it turned out to be impossible to keep under wraps.

When you project this card onto other people, you perceive them as either overly emotional or overly controlling. It seems that they are trying to bind you with a spell.

You either fear the strength of such a person and his power over you, or bow before him. In the inner world, it is the balance of mind and body, as well as the acquisition of the spiritual courage necessary to treat both equally and respectfully. Listen carefully to what your body is saying.

In terms of health, trying to be strong all the time can lead to cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, and depression. Hormonal surges and premenstrual syndrome may also be observed. Anger and rage have no less destructive effect on the body than physical violence.

From a shamanic and magical point of view, this is a very important card representing the life force. Among its meanings are charms, witchcraft, tantric sex, mysteries related to the female cycles, shapeshifting and transformation into animals, and working with the mysterious energy of animals. In addition, it is the healing power of touch and other types of healing. In occult metaphysics, the reversed Power speaks of the awakening of your own magical power, which can be for good or for bad.

Traditional inverted meanings: despotism, tyranny, abuse of power. Sovereignty. Kingdom. State, administration. People, people, nation. Weakness, helplessness, imperfection. Anger, cruelty, strife. Impatience. Powerlessness before temptation.

1 - The distinction between "power over" and "power within", which perfectly illustrates the concepts of the Chariot and the Force, is developed in detail in the book Starhawk, Dreaming the Dark by an American occultist named Hawk Knight. - Note. author.

Astrological meaning:
Goddesses depicted naked, riding a lion: Hebe, wife of the Hittite god of the storm; Hebe, wife of Hercules; the Babylonian goddess Ishtar, putting the heavenly monster on a leash to release it against Urduk, the city of Gilgamesh; Greek nymph Cyrene, taming lions without weapons.
FORCE

The EROTIC TAROT DECK was created by the Italian artist MILO MANARA quite recently, and has been produced by Lo Scarabeo since 2000. Despite such a young age, these cards turned out to be an excellent tool that helps to understand the psychological intricacies of the human soul and understand the problems that arise in relationships.

The main advantage of the deck is revealed not so much in making forecasts, but in psychological and psychotherapeutic work with a client. It helps to move away from banal questions like
"Well, what will I have with him?",
"Will he marry me?" or
"When will I finally meet my love?"
to rethinking oneself and one’s behavior, leads to identifying the causes of failures and helps to understand what needs to be changed in oneself, what to work on in order to find oneself and open up through love.

SHUT
Silly you my Pinocchio ...
IMAGE. Frivolous young Malvina plays with a wooden doll. She wants to appear strict, teaches. But for a girl, this is just a game... Pinocchio carelessly settled down on her knees, unconditionally trusting his First Teacher. His curiosity is boundless - everything is new, and where will the game lead? But the girl is too frivolous to foresee all the consequences. She does not even think that, being too carried away, she may accidentally break her favorite toy. Will she be sad after this? Hardly... She will immediately find other dolls that will gladly take the place of the broken Pinocchio.
An attentive reader, of course, will notice that the Italian artist will rather call the character of this card Pinocchio, and the plot in the original Italian fairy tale is somewhat different from that outlined by Alexei Tolstoy. Perhaps Milo Manara put a slightly different meaning into the meaning of this Arcana, but since the development of this deck was carried out by the Russian Tarot Club, we worked with the Russian archetype of Pinocchio and Malvina.
MEANING. The child is trying to play adult games. Manipulation. There are two main characters here: a growing girl and a wooden doll miraculously coming to life in the hands of a future woman. Pinocchio does not yet know what these games will lead to. In full accordance with the 0 Arcanum of the traditional Tarot ("Jester", or "Fool"), he does not even suspect the dangers that excessive trust in a charming girl can lead to. Bewitched by her charm and imaginary experience in games, Pinocchio does not think that he can be maimed, broken, thrown into the fire ... What drives him? Just ignorance and curiosity: this is how a child reaches out to a burning candle, not suspecting that burns can be very painful and will take a long time to heal. The course of the game is unpredictable, the rules change at every turn... (Man: Well... I'm not that naive. And sometimes I don't mind being played with... But one condition: more refinement, more jewelry... Let it be beautiful game - no matter how it ends ...)
Let's get back to the meaning of the card. Maybe you are just a tool in someone's hands, or you yourself lead your partner by the nose? What exactly is happening? You will understand this from the surrounding maps.
CONDITION. The questioner herself does not yet understand what she needs. She plays a fun and cruel game, but there is no deep, serious relationship. This is a story card, so try to determine which character's state the questioner is in. If the client is in the state of Malvina, she wants to seem more experienced than she really is; more knowledgeable and serious. May use a partner for some of his purposes. In the role of Pinocchio, she will be rather carefree, frivolous and completely fascinated by her counterpart. If you openly report that she is being led by the nose, then she is unlikely to be upset. She may say, "I kind of suspected it. Yes, that's probably the case. It doesn't really matter, though." And the relationship will continue for some time, until some strange, unexpected event occurs, which will put everything in its place.
CHARACTERISTICS OF RELATIONSHIPS. One of the partners manipulates, and the other trusts him too much. Someone is trying to manage the situation, adjust it to their momentary interests, without thinking about the consequences. And the other or the other simply allows himself to be disposed of. This is a game without serious intentions, without deep affection, without sincere feelings. A person in the role of Malvina can easily abandon his Pinocchio. One thing is good - parting is unlikely to be tragic for both.
THE PHYSICAL STATE. Frivolity, lightness of behavior. The fragility of the connection. Infantilism. Most likely, the lack of sexual relations.
FEELINGS. Game, lightness, lack of commitment, irresponsibility.
A WARNING. You run the risk of being a toy in someone's hands.
ADVICE. Allow yourself frivolity, give free rein to your inner child. Treat what is happening as a game and boldly embark on an adventure.
ASTROLOGICAL COMPLIANCE. Uranus. Gives the card an element of surprise, spontaneity. Partners are spiritually distant from each other. In the emotional sphere gives impulsiveness and extreme eccentricity.

MAG
IMAGE. A woman in a white coat - a physical and spiritual doctor - boldly set to work. After all, she always knows exactly what and how it should be. And the Iron Animal can only meekly entrust itself to its capable hands. But is the doctor always really right? And how long will this "iron Galatea" be under the rule of its Pygmalion? There is a possibility that the monster's patience will sooner or later come to a limit, he will want to leave and begin to remake the world according to his ideas.
The window frame in the background resembles a lattice and symbolizes the limited mind and ideas that surround the intimate laboratory.
MEANING. Traditionally, the Arcana "Magician" represents the intellect, a developed self-awareness. Creating his deck, Milo Manara did not leave the tradition, he only placed accents in a special way. This card represents the Master and Matter, a mind-led experiment.
When working with cards, you need to determine what role the consulted person plays: a girl or a monster, she creates situations herself or she is skillfully controlled.
In the position of the Master, the counselee understands well what she wants and knows how to achieve it. She is in the process of working. Her whole life is a strict adherence to her own theories and rules. Her main attitudes: "In life, everything depends only on me", "It should be the way I want." Or even more harshly: "There are two opinions: mine and the wrong one." All reasoning is logically correct and consistent with one's own idea of the world. The partner's feelings are not so important - if you act "right", then there will be "right" emotions. According to this card, the questioner is used to relying only on herself and is ready to be responsible for her decisions and actions - of course, if others follow the rules of her game.
In the position of the "iron little animal" a person considers his partner more experienced, knowledgeable, skillful, gives all the initiative into his hands and allows him to do whatever he wants with himself. But how long will this last? Indeed, at some point, patience can burst, and too authoritarian pressure can cause a reaction of protest.
If you are having trouble defining roles, or a card is seen as a single card with no connection to others, then stick to the DM's line of interpretation.
CONDITION. Opposition of the mind to the forces of nature. Consciousness and logic are trying to control feelings and animal instincts, but how easy it is to go too far on this path ... And then the long-suppressed libido, turning into a dangerous monster, will break free like fiery lava, crushing everything in its path.
One of the persons described by the card can be described as a mature, intellectually developed person with a sharp mind and practical ingenuity. She is able to act correctly and decisively. As a true master in her field, she is characterized by self-confidence, self-control and a strong, unbending will.
Another person is a subordinate personality, but, unlike the stupid Pinocchio of the previous card, it has its own energy and will potential. She will not allow herself to be maimed or destroyed, but rather, in a critical situation, she will destroy her despot.
CHARACTERISTICS OF RELATIONSHIPS. Communication cannot be called equal: one of the partners clearly has a penchant for leadership and seeks to lead, while the other obeys and can feel quite comfortable in the role of a follower.
THE PHYSICAL STATE. Attunement to interaction, but neglect of feelings. In sexual relations - the research interest of the experimenter. Surrounded by "bad" cards - excessive theorizing, which interferes with harmony, including in sex.
FEELINGS. Here the mind rules over the senses. The partner is perceived as an imperfect object, an object for self-expression. Or - the other extreme - full recognition of the partner's authority and unconditional submission.
A WARNING. To Master: Even if you have the best of intentions, consider what kind of beast you can wake up by applying pressure. Don't bend the stick.
Monster: aren't they trying to remake you too boldly, are you ready to be "obedient clay" in strangers, even the most experienced hands?
ADVICE. Master: take matters into your own hands, act boldly and decisively. "We cannot expect mercy from nature." You know what you want and you can get it. Monster: trust your partner - now he really knows better how to act. Let him lead and experiment.
ASTROLOGICAL COMPLIANCE. Mercury. Correspondence with this planet emphasizes the special role of intelligence and rationality: all feelings must be passed through the mind. Fast decision making.

PRIESTESS
IMAGE. A nun in black clothes is trying to look at herself in the mirror. Under the monastic cassock lies living flesh. However, the heroine does not have the courage to even look at her nakedness openly... Will she be able to touch herself, try to understand the secrets of the universe through her own body? Will she want to become herself, to recognize the carnal side of her "I", or will she forever wear these clothes?
Here the mirror is a symbol of mediation. The perception of the world does not occur directly, but through something. This "something" can be all kinds of philosophical and religious teachings, cultural norms and stereotypes, inspired by the parents of the idea.
MEANING. An attempt at self-awareness. Alluring, seductive unknown. The situation when something happens for the first time. A person does not know his true essence and does not allow it to be revealed, justifying his limitations with duty, duties, decency. Following social norms, a chosen or imposed role, suppression of desires, resulting disharmony and contradictions.
In some cases, the card indicates the presence of a secret, warns of possible pitfalls and currents ... There is a possibility of a secret connection, the presence of a lover or mistress.
CONDITION. The conflict between unconscious inner desires and social norms of morality. Subconscious prohibition of love. Fear of knowing yourself, knowing your body.
CHARACTERISTICS OF RELATIONSHIPS. A connection that partners for some reason want to keep secret.
THE PHYSICAL STATE. Until we get married, we will not be able to say, Whether the wife's knees are glued with glue.
William Blake
Virginity, chastity, lack of sexual experience. In relationships - big problems caused by internal prohibitions.
FEELINGS. A person according to this card is very "clamped" and does not allow himself to love. Can talk about inexperience or self-doubt. In an unfavorable environment - hypocrisy.
A WARNING. Are you not burying yourself under the strict robes of propriety?
ADVICE. Develop your intuition. Femininity is the most important and valuable in you. However, do not open yourself to the world around you with all immediacy. Remain an eternal mystery, a riddle. Keep your honor.
ASTROLOGICAL COMPLIANCE. Moon. In the Priestess card, only the aspect of the Moon-Diana is expressed - the eternally inaccessible and cruel virgin. Days of Hecate.

EMPRESS
IMAGE. A woman sits on a high pedestal. Her bosom gave birth to the Universe, her breast nourished the whole World. Before the Woman, laying down his weapons, the Warrior bowed. We do not see the face of the Empress, and it does not matter to us, because the Warrior does not worship the person, but the Woman.
The Empress Arcana represents the Archetype of the Primordial Woman, a powerful psychic entity, an instinctive nature, a natural soul. The cold blue-blue colors of the card create a feeling of the cosmic infinity of the Natural Beginning, evoke a feeling of inner peace and philosophical concentration.
MEANING. Subjectivity. Eternal femininity, which is worthy of worship. The ability to see in each particular woman the manifestation of the Divine Feminine Principle.
Strictly speaking, this card can be called a story card, but the roles never change in it: a woman always remains a Woman, and a man - a Warrior. This Arcana can also symbolize the Mother Woman and, if there is other evidence, indicate pregnancy and motherhood.
CONDITION. Worship before the divine femininity. Positive feminine qualities, feminine beauty.
For a man, the card will always indicate the presence of a very significant woman in his life. This is a beloved or loving woman; a faithful, virtuous friend, wife or mother; powerful patroness. She is gifted with natural beauty and sensuality. With more subtle psychological work - the Archetype of the Mother.
For a woman - awareness of her femininity, attractiveness and charm. Taking worship and love for granted. Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury.
CHARACTERISTICS OF RELATIONSHIPS. Woman leadership. The kingdom of matriarchy in relationships.
THE PHYSICAL STATE. Deep sense of self-worth. This card does not speak of intense sexual relations, since the Woman is more focused on herself, and enthusiastic worship is enough for the Warrior.
FEELINGS. For a woman - the disclosure of female sexuality, awareness of her greatness, a sense of her strength. For a man - finding his Ideal. The ability to see the manifestation of the Divine Feminine in every earthly woman. Or the presence in life of an important female figure.
A WARNING. For a woman: don't you put yourself too high? Inflated conceit, inflated self-esteem. This card will warn a man against becoming addicted.
ADVICE. Woman: listen to your nature, show your feminine. Man: try to see the Goddess in a woman - she deserves to bow before her.
ASTROLOGICAL COMPLIANCE. Venus. This planet is a symbol of the feminine. In astrology, it symbolizes emotional needs and represents that part of our personality that evaluates a partner and makes choices. Emotions are based on sensory perception or deep affection.

EMPEROR
IMAGE. A shrunken, rag-wrapped girl sits on a boulder in front of a raging sea. From the sea foam appears the ghost of the Valiant Knight. A harsh image from fantasy gradually becomes a reality that suppresses and depresses.
Red symbolizes purposeful, almost limitless power and evokes a feeling of strength and energy. In this boiling and burning, the masculine principle clearly manifests itself and dominates.
MEANING. Card "Emperor" - plot. You will need some skill to grasp who the counselee or counselee is. If a woman in the Arcana "Empress" never leaves her pedestal and does not become a warrior, then men, despite the "imperial" essence, very often shift the duties of the Severe Knight onto the fragile shoulders of their girlfriends, gradually turning into an "unfortunate victim".
If the layout shows that the questioner is in the state of a girl, then the card will most likely turn to her with her most severe side and indicate despotism, suppression and humiliation. But there is a key to solving the problem. He is in the realization that all these horrors are rather in the head of our client. “Everyone is treated as he allows himself to be treated ...” If you have an attitude that all men (women) are bastards, despots, fools and scoundrels (underline what is necessary and enter the missing), then he (she) and will see them as such. Moreover, he (she) will fulfill their expectations as such.
If our counselor is a strong-willed and self-confident person, then we can safely assume that she is in the role of a Severe Knight. And then, of course, you can interpret the card from its positive side. This Arcana will indicate the manifestation of masculine qualities and character traits that are oh so necessary in our lives: authoritarian leadership, dominance, willpower and personal strength. True, others may be afraid of such a person, feeling too strong pressure and authority in her ... And this information, most likely, will greatly surprise our client.
In a general sense, the card means superficial external power, which is used to express oneself at the expense of others. Undeserved fame and recognition. Immaturity, recklessness.
CONDITION. In the role of a Severe Knight, a person is full of inner strength, but cannot correctly assess the situation. Tyranny, stubbornness, exaggerated self-esteem and megalomania. Reckless arrogance, recklessness, irritability and resentment.
If our counselee is in the role of "unfortunate victim", then the card will indicate fear and depression. But this is the state that a person is quite satisfied with, since he created it for himself. After all, the image of the Severe Knight is just a figment of the girl's fantasy.
CHARACTERISTICS OF RELATIONSHIPS. Lack of understanding and tenderness in relationships. One of the partners makes the other an "evil genius" and finds special pleasure in this.
THE PHYSICAL STATE. Misconceptions about each other with negative expectations interfere with the development of sexual relations. Sexual dissatisfaction. (Man: In this state, I would look for another for myself ... for soul and body.)
Fear of intimacy, fear of a partner. Most often, in women, this manifests itself as a kind of complex - fears due to the imperfection of their body, an implicit expectation of ridicule and condemnation. Men on this card may have a fear of their possible insolvency.
FEELINGS. For a person in the role of an "unfortunate victim" - self-humiliation, subordination of one's interests to the desires of a partner, even humiliation. When analyzing the reasons, the card will most likely indicate problems in the relationship with the father, who was very authoritarian and did not tolerate objections.
For a person in the role of a Severe Knight - militant patriarchy, excessive severity. At the root of the problem is the Oedipus complex or the Electra complex.
A WARNING. "The devil is not so terrible as he is painted." The dangers are more a figment of your fantasy than reality. Ghosts are not as scary as you think.
ADVICE. For the Severe Knight - show your masculinity: strength of character and will. For a girl - look for a strong personality.
ASTROLOGICAL COMPLIANCE. Aries. The whole map is made in red colors, which are the best suited for this sign. Unsublimated aggressive Martian energy is manifested here (1), and therefore explosions of hatred, anger or violence can be expected from the Emperor. In the emotional sphere, Aries correspond to courage, passion, pride, determination and active creative power, and in the worst manifestations - rudeness, harshness, excess in everything, uncontrollable rage. Excessive energy in the expression of emotions can destroy the achieved balance.
According to the rules of classical astrology, Mars is the ruler of Aries.

PRIEST
IMAGE. High on the steps of the temple, not at all ashamed, in an absurd pose, showing herself to everyone around, sits a girl. A passing priest shied away from her in fright. Compositionally, the girl is higher than the clergyman, with her whole appearance, as if asserting the victory of the carnal over the spiritual.
MEANING. The conflict of spiritual and earthly. Absurdity, irrelevance. Social discord, excessive openness and stupid spontaneity, shocking. The card describes situations in which the counselee is subjected to public condemnation, but she either does not notice the attitude of others, or it does not bother her much.
If the counselee is in the role of a cleric, the card will speak of hypocrisy, rejection of what goes beyond her ideas. Dogmatism and fanaticism. The other side of licentiousness is excessive severity; one holds fast to a letter of the law or a perverted doctrine because of his ignorance. An impostor confident in his spiritual authority. An ignorant, insensitive person who gives bad advice.
In a general sense - a false direction, incomplete knowledge. Orthodoxy. Vulnerability. Lack of own strength and insight, immorality. Dogmatism, exaggerated severity, moral standards.
CONDITION. The man in the role of the woman depicted on the card does not understand what is possible and what is not. He does not feel the situation, and therefore cannot correctly assess it. Therefore, his actions are inappropriate and he is subjected to public criticism or even expulsion from any circle. The counselor persists in her convictions, but she is either too late or completely out of place.
Behavior must be appropriate to the moment. Due to excessive openness, human actions are criticized.
If the counselee is in the state of a cleric, the card will speak of hypocrisy, condemnation of what does not fit into her ideas about the world. Dogmatism and fanaticism. Actions are guided by an instilled erroneous belief. One holds fast to the letter of the law, or to a distorted doctrine, out of ignorance. An impostor confident in his spiritual authority. Ignorant person giving bad advice.
CHARACTERISTICS OF RELATIONSHIPS. Partners from different walks of life, with different moral values and
different outlooks on life. Unequal marriage. Mismatch of interests and intentions.
THE PHYSICAL STATE. inconsistency with the environment. Vulgarity. Lack of understanding and mutual feeling. As for sex, partners have too different ideas about the boundaries of what is permitted.
FEELINGS. Awkwardness, feeling of "stupid position". Condemnation. Conflict between desires and possibilities and, as a result, shocking behavior. A person feels "out of his element".
A WARNING. Are you on the right path? Are you afraid of your own courage? And is such behavior appropriate in your circle and current situation? Think about whether you fit the situation.
ADVICE. Do not be afraid of yourself and your desires. Whatever you want, then do it.
ASTROLOGICAL COMPLIANCE. Taurus. The world of primary feelings and the desire to satisfy them, regardless of existing norms and decency. Potential Opportunities. The sign of Taurus gives conflicting emotions. Selfishness. Inertia.

LOVERS
IMAGE. Behind the easel is an inspired Artist, in front of him is a beautiful Nature. But what is it on the girl’s body: paint or blood? And on her hand - a bracelet or a piece of rope? Love is sometimes called the pain of the soul. It's like two sides of the same coin: by acquiring the whole world, you acquire the whole rainbow of feelings and sensations: from delight to painful suffering; from the tender warmth of intimacy to the chilling cold of parting. So you dissolve in your beloved, ceasing to understand where you are - and where he is; where is yours - and where is his soul.
But such unity does not happen without pain, the pain of understanding that, by and large, no one belongs to anyone; that your image, created by your loved one, is different from the real one. Love is like a never-ending and sweet torment, pain, but it gives the soul immortality... And then, if this is a true feeling, the paint with which the beloved painted your image can turn into living blood, and pulsating living blood into paint.
A large easel stands between the Artist and Nature like a blank wall - they do not see each other and do not feel the partner's real experiences. The artist is passionate about his work, and the girl is passionate about the Artist. He enthusiastically creates, not noticing the Model behind his painting. Yes, and she, serving him, completely forgot about herself, about the fact that her back was slashed with traces of a whip ... or painted with a brush of the same Artist? Everyone gets what they want. They complement each other and exist as a whole.
MEANING. Self-sacrifice. Manifestation of will. Painful suffering from love. The intensity of passions, emotions.
CONDITION. This is a plot card, so look carefully, don't make a mistake, don't confuse the states of the Artist and Nature. The Artist has an inspired ecstasy from the creative process, narcissism. Nature has enthusiasm, admiration. "Inflation of the Star". Approaching the image of the ideal that appears on the canvas increases self-esteem.
CHARACTERISTICS OF RELATIONSHIPS. The interaction of people is built according to the scenario "Talent and admirer". The relationship is quite stable: both the Artist and Nature, of course, need each other. Moreover, the Artist can behave selfishly and not notice his real inspirer nearby, but if she disappears, the whole building of his significance and achievements will collapse. After all, it is she, patient and in love, a necessary condition for his success. If the Artist leaves the life of Nature, then her life will lose its meaning. After all, there will be no one to admire, no one to take care of, the Sun will disappear, warming with the rays of at least some, but attention, with the rays of its glory.
THE PHYSICAL STATE. Sublimation of sexual energy through creativity. Love. Mystical attraction between partners.
FEELINGS. The Artist has an egoistic focus on himself. Models are given the features of the ideal. The Model has pleasure from suffering, sadomasochism.
A WARNING. To the artist: can you feel a partner? Don't just focus on yourself. To the model: you make too expensive a sacrifice, following a lofty idea. Is the game worth the candle?
ADVICE. To the artist: create, your partner will support you. Model: continue to serve, be the muse and inspirer of the creator.
ASTROLOGICAL COMPLIANCE. Twins. The esoteric task of the zodiac sign Gemini is to find your half. The theme in this card is the consonance of the Artist and Nature, talent and admirer, the impossibility of the existence of one without the other.

CHARIOT
IMAGE. From the haze of dreams and the ghostly fog of illusions, a girl appears, straddling a movie camera. She lives in a fairy-tale world of her memories and ideas. There is only what she wants to see and feel. It exists within the framework of a script written by someone who knows, following it rigorously. This girl is so immersed in the world created by her inner director that reality ceases to exist. Everything around becomes deceptive and ghostly, unreal, there is only a sweet dream of illusions and memories.
MEANING. On this card, we have a very important symbol that we will meet more than once during our journey through the deck - a movie camera. Firstly, it is a symbol of illusions, secondly, a symbol of retrospection, memories, and, thirdly, a symbol of programmed actions allegedly predetermined by some unknown scriptwriter-director. Hence the keywords for the meaning of this card: flashback, immersion in the past, remembrance, dreams, illusions. Staged game, scenario plan, inevitability or repetition of actions.
If in the classic Tarot Arcana "Chariot" speaks of victory, a rapid movement forward, which, frankly, is difficult to link with the sign of Cancer (1) attributed to it, then in this deck, as befits crustaceans, the Chariot "rushes" back. A person living according to this map, with enviable persistence, steps "on the same rake" or believes that he must "pass this path to the end", despite the fact that the same path has been used more than once, and always with the same the same ending. A good game is unlikely to "pull out" a bad script. And if the script is good, then the actor's bad play may well affect the quality of the "movie".
(1) The "Chariot" Arcana, in the tradition of the Golden Down order, corresponds to the zodiac sign Cancer. Proponents of this correspondence draw attention to the fact that Cancer is an emotional sign of the soul in astrology.
CONDITION. Memories rule over a person. The pressure of past experience. The bad is forgotten, the remaining pleasant is greatly retouched and painted - and now the sweet chewing gum of memories is ready. Now it is very pleasant to say with a thoughtful look: "Oh, how good it was with him! I will never meet such love again ..." - and repeat all your mistakes in a new relationship and again come to parting. Or - if it's happening now - "I have to play this part to the end," which, however, does not deny the repetition of takes.
CHARACTERISTICS OF RELATIONSHIPS. Very often, the card appears in cases where we are dealing with long-term relationships with a long history. If we are talking about a new acquaintance, we can safely make the assumption that past experience leaves an imprint on the nascent connection.
THE PHYSICAL STATE. There is a certain old-fashionedness in the behavior. The map may also indicate the presence of complexes. Childhood, growing up, when they learn only from their mistakes, or the first sexual experience - this is where the roots of the problems of the Chariot go.
FEELINGS. Nostalgia. It is necessary to figure out what memories and dreams take a person away from reality, make him play the same roles with the same outcome, drive him into the "scenario trap". Most often, this is a negative experience or a behavior pattern that “turns on” every time a new relationship arises.
Sensitivity, sentimentality. The card is sometimes a signal that an old love has not yet freed the heart.
A WARNING. Don't get attached to the past, don't let the memories guide you. Step back from the script, get creative in building relationships. You use past experience and therefore make the same mistakes.
ADVICE. Look back, look for clues in past experiences.
ASTROLOGICAL COMPLIANCE. Cancer. Gives an emphasis on the past - old feelings, experiences, connections.

JUSTICE
IMAGE. A pretty girl in an oriental veil peeks out with curiosity and alertness from behind the carved doors of an old house. She has everything in this house, her life is quite satisfactory, but sometimes strange thoughts arise - what is there, in the wild, what is the unknown world outside the gates? The main thing is what will happen if I leave for a short time? Should I take the risk?
This girl does not know what strings of the soul a new adventure will awaken in her, attractive and fraught with danger at the same time. At home, she knows only one part of herself, one half, not suspecting what hidden forces and feelings lurk in the depths of her soul.
The scales of the classic Eighth Arcana Tarot are a symbol of balance. In the unity of consciousness and subconsciousness, good and bad, good and evil, such a balance is necessary. If it is violated, it is mainly because we do not understand our hidden powers. It is fair to know everything about yourself, otherwise you can turn into a living doll in the hands of the owner of the harem.
MEANING. A conflict between internal rules and a keen desire to break them. The girl is driven by curiosity. "It's good to put on a burqa when you have a sultan who can appreciate it." On the map - a situation that may well happen if the "sultan" pays less and less attention to his beauty ... or an alluring image of another flashes through the window. "And I want, and it pricks." The desire to diversify your life, to try the forbidden, to taste the unknown, keeping the new experience a secret.
CONDITION. Curiosity, flirting, interest. Showing impregnability. Weighing "for" and "against".
CHARACTERISTICS OF RELATIONSHIPS. It can be a relationship of a couple in which at least one of the partners is already committed to someone else. A connection between two married people is possible, or only one of the partners is married. However, this does not prevent mutual interest. I would like to try the "forbidden fruit", but without advertising adultery - why change something in your fairly comfortable life?
If we consider the Nascent relationship of people who are not married, then the card will indicate their readiness to embark on a love adventure, but very, very carefully so as not to change the established routine of life. If the question concerns a married couple, then we will talk about the need to somehow diversify their life together.
THE PHYSICAL STATE. A person has driven himself into the framework of the rules, but over time, he became cramped in them. Fatigue from the "fulfillment of marital duties", the desire for diversity, but without fundamental changes in the already established relationship.
FEELINGS. Interest in each other, despite obstacles (attraction appears, and then we think about obstacles, don't we?). A strong sense of responsibility and duty that does not allow you to do what you want.
A WARNING. Have you considered the consequences well? Where will your curiosity lead you?
ADVICE. Try it, take a look. A new novel will bring unexplored sensations, your life will sparkle with all its facets, will be filled with new meaning, will become richer. Advice for a married couple: you need to "redecorate" your relationship.
ASTROLOGICAL COMPLIANCE. A lion. There is one significant difference in the Manara deck from the accepted schemes for setting astrological correspondences. Taking as a basis the order of the Arcana proposed by the Order of the Golden Dawn, the author returned the Arcana VIII and XI to their former places. He refused to rearrange Mathers, made for the sake of correlating the Arcana with esoteric astrological attributes. In this deck, "Justice" comes before "Strength", but the astrological sequence of symbols is not changed. Therefore, Arcanum VIII is called "Justice", but corresponds to the sign of Leo, and "Strength" corresponds to Libra. Thus, in the VIII Arcana, the meanings of the classical "Justice" and the characteristics of the zodiac Leo were fancifully mixed. To the severity and "correctness", even some cruelty of "Justice", notes of playfulness, liveliness, and immediacy are added.

HERMIT
IMAGE. A terrible Werewolf sits on the bank of the river, looking angrily into the distance, where the world of human love blooms beyond the mountain. He wants to be involved in this world - and is afraid of it at the same time. Fear of feelings makes him oppose himself to people. So a person becomes a werewolf animal, and human emotions seem to him an impenetrable thicket, causing only disgust and anger. He sits on the bank of the river, afraid to enter the water that separates him from the longed-for world of love. Water here (as, indeed, in general in the esoteric tradition) is a symbol of emotions. A werewolf does not allow himself to love, does not see the beauty of feelings - his soul is like a heavy stone, his feelings are painted only in gray-black tones. That is why he cannot become a man.
MEANING. The IX Arcana in the Manara deck is one of the darkest and most difficult cards: longing, loneliness, hopelessness ... She speaks of forced isolation, rejection and anger at the world around her. Living in oblivion or a hostile environment. Degradation, dissatisfaction, severe loneliness. Maybe this is a child who was not loved in childhood? And now he takes revenge on the whole world, not realizing that in this way he will not find love, but will drive himself even deeper into loneliness.
In which heart is so created,
That it does not feel friendship or love,
And hate one for all feeds,
He regards everyone as his villain.
I. A. Krylov
CONDITION. Evil pessimism. Inability to enjoy human company. A hopeless situation. Doomed to loneliness; make sure no one understands you. Dependence on own complexes. But this is not the state when you want to cry from unrequited feelings - rather, the desire to "punish" the partner comes to the fore: "I feel bad, but you should be even worse."
Interestingly, the Hermit card in the Manara deck is almost never positive. One way or another, with the advent of the IX Arcana, deep complexes and non-constructive motives are found in the layouts. There is an element of some destructive subconscious beginning in it. Or, in other words, signs of mental illness, which is at the stage when it can still be dealt with on its own, realizing the painfulness of its condition.
CHARACTERISTICS OF RELATIONSHIPS. This is a map of loneliness. Therefore, even if the relationship does exist, they can be called "loneliness together." Suppressed or carefully concealed hatred for a partner. Black envy of cheerful, sociable people with an open heart who know how to love and are loved.
THE PHYSICAL STATE. Sexual problems. Serious complexes and clamps. Rejection and a sense of inferiority, sexual dissatisfaction, which are the cause of anger and aggressiveness. Ascetic lifestyle.
FEELINGS. Dissatisfaction, inability to love and give joy. Envy.
A WARNING. Are you too self-absorbed? Are you turning into a werewolf, blaming everyone but yourself for your mistakes and failures? Maybe the reason for your mistakes is in you?
ADVICE. Be alone, think. Don't ruin the lives of others.
ASTROLOGICAL COMPLIANCE. Virgo. This zodiac sign gives coldness and aloofness. Virgo's behavior style is pettiness and tediousness that poison the lives of others.

MIRROR (WHEEL OF FORTUNE)
IMAGE. At first glance, it may seem that four girls are depicted here. But no - it's just one figure standing in front of many mirrors. She carefully examines herself to once again be convinced of her own irresistibility. The girl is completely absorbed in the mirror image, those around her are boring and uninteresting.
MEANING. The eternity of matter, which has an internal source of motion, is the traditional meaning of the Wheel of Fortune Arcana. In the erotic Tarot, he turns into a "Mirror" and acquires a deeply personal coloring. The core of the personality, impelling to continuous self-knowledge. Self-sufficiency. The driving force is your own "I". The philosophy of pleasure, when bliss is recognized as the goal of life and the highest good. Continuous self-knowledge. Egocentrism. Remember how in Pushkin's fairy tale: "Am I the sweetest in the world ..."? Irresistibility of personality. Beauty and confidence in one's own irresistibility. The desire to be in the center, to attract attention.
In a general sense, the Arcana "Mirror" can mean a new round in life, a change for the better. Luck. A happy coincidence. Essentially, according to Eric Berne's classification of psychological types (winner, non-winner, loser), this is a winner card. The heroine of this Arcana is so confident in her own success that sooner or later fortune really turns out to be on her side. And here he is, a fairy-tale prince under scarlet sails, rich and enthusiastic - just the way she imagined. However, the girl, most likely, will only favorably accept signs of attention, without giving anything in return. It is unlikely that she will be able to love anyone but herself.
CONDITION. Narcissism, selfishness. The main focus is on the self. Surrounded by negative cards - loss of oneself: "where am I, and where is my reflection?" Not to see, not to notice the world around, with the exception of a small piece of the interior reflected in the mirror. Perceive the environment as a background to your own personality.
CHARACTERISTICS OF RELATIONSHIPS. In such a relationship, a person does not seek reciprocity in the true sense of the word. He looks into his partner's eyes and sees only his own reflection there. A kind of mutual understanding, but only if you fully believe in the irresistibility of your partner, finding "cute" all her antics. Such a relationship, you see, can continue until the girl goes further in search of pleasure. Nothing will stop her here. Or until the partner gets tired of being in a state of eternal admiration.
THE PHYSICAL STATE. Concentration on oneself, and the emphasis is on one's appearance. Selfish sex.
FEELINGS. The surrounding world and the partner are considered only as a means for self-manifestation and self-affirmation. "I want to fill the whole world with myself" or - "The world is me."
A WARNING. Possible loss of the real "I". Do you see anyone other than yourself? Where are you? Loss of orientation in feelings.
ADVICE. Look for new places and new opportunities for self-discovery. What you have, multiply. Use positive moments, trust fate. Although you are completely self-sufficient, someone should appreciate your beauty, so do not lock yourself in.
ASTROLOGICAL COMPLIANCE. Jupiter. Gives the opportunity of luck, a happy chance. This planet can give an obsessive desire to be the center of attention. Self-admiration, hedonism and epicureanism.

FORCE
IMAGE. The girl in a fit of passion embraced a huge pillar-phallus. But what to do next?.. The tension of her body indicates unsuccessful attempts to cope with it. The object of desire is clearly too tough for her.
MEANING. expansion of the individual; capture, offensive, personal activity. "Marriages should be equal" - in many ways this phrase can be attributed to sexual relations.
CONDITION. A man takes aim at a very attractive piece, but, unfortunately, he cannot take possession of the object of his desire. A power that has no worthy use. In order to control emotions, you need a lot of internal energy, the power of the mind.
CHARACTERISTICS OF RELATIONSHIPS. The relationship of two very different people. They want to be together, but this is impossible for many reasons that "crawl out" at the first attempt to get closer. One of them has a desire to get a partner by force, to possess him at all costs, to “feed” at his expense. Small, insignificant little things that, with the development of relationships, can grow into colossal problems.
THE PHYSICAL STATE. Sexual incompatibility, temperament difference.
FEELINGS. Very emotional and sexy card.
A WARNING. A goal set too high or an impossible task. Before you get involved, calculate whether you have enough strength. Can you cope with such a partner, do you match him?
ADVICE. It's not about winning, it's about participating. Even if the forces are not equal, do not miss the chance. "I can't catch up, so at least I'll get warm." Of course, you will get something from this connection - at least just a new experience.
ASTROLOGICAL COMPLIANCE. Scales. This correspondence indicates the need for proportionality. Libra is a tough sign, it is very difficult to balance their bowls, they always rush to extremes. In the emotional sphere: imbalance, love of love and inconstancy in hobbies.

I continue to acquaint you with my personal developments on Manara.

Hermit

For a long time I perceived this map not quite correctly, not knowing the source.
Rather, in the interpretation of Nevsky, although I do not like him. A man sits alone on the shore, near the lake (water - emotions), but he does not go into the reservoir, and he himself almost turned into a beast. There comes an association with hydrophobia in an animal, a disease of rabies.
The fear of feelings is so strong that he goes crazy.
Unwillingness builds relationships, unwillingness that has turned into an inability to love. He is alone. And even the burnt grass around him and the bare branches of trees speak of moral emptiness and black emptiness inside.
This is a correct interpretation, but not always. Because in the original drawing of Manara, we see that the beast, dropping saliva, is watching a beautiful woman, entering the water without fear.
The woman looks like the heroine of another card, and most likely, this is the same comic book by the artist.

It is in comparing the Hermit with 10 water that it becomes clear what the beast-man refuses. From love, warmth, hope for life as a couple.
In the layouts, this card does not mean that a person does NOT need a personal relationship. They just really need him. But due to his complexes, fears, less often - external circumstances, he runs away from this, like from fire. This is a deep psychological crisis.
To the question "Does he (a) love me?" answer: “Rather, he loves, but at the same time you will not be together, he (a) will not allow himself to approach you.
The hermit is a fear of intimacy, but at the same time a terrible desire for it. This is the anger and wolf longing of a partner for you.
For a querent, if the lasso symbolizes him, he says that he needs to stop hiding from life and people, that loneliness turns his life into hell, and the further, the more difficult it will be for him to build relationships, start a family, etc.
There is no sex. There is no perfect communication. But the man-beast himself is not happy that he is alone, like the classic Hermit. He is bad with himself, but even worse with other people.
Map of aggression. Sometimes he warns that a partner may raise a hand against you. It also has a motive of jealousy, moreover, crazy jealousy, leading to bad consequences for both, up to criminality.

Wheel of Fortune

A lasso that has nothing to do with fate or force majeure, but more with selfishness. Although selfishness is also fate, since a person builds his life, guided only by his own interests.
The woman looks into a whole gallery of mirrors. It is interesting that she is wearing half boots and a strict office jacket, but without underwear and a skirt. A half-finished image or a double life. Dual Desires. On the one hand - rigor and business style, on the other - the desire for an intimate sense.

In the original picture, a still dressed young lady blows soap bubbles, despite the fact that she is at some kind of social event or presentation. Infantilism, hidden under a strict image, is revealed at the most inopportune moment. But we see that the heroine of the comic is left alone with the mirrors, and not with the man who, most likely, was looking for her.
In the layouts, she often shows self-sufficient ladies, for whom the main thing is a career and material comfort. Such women do not strive for a strong relationship with the opposite sex, it is enough for them to admire themselves and love themselves, as no one loves them.

Exaggerated expectations from a lover, husband, candidate for lovers “I am a princess, all of you are unworthy yard dogs!”.

On existing relationships - a partner or you think only of yourself, meeting with you is his selfish need, he has no feelings for you.
Sometimes, very rarely, a map can show trips and roads, as in the classics, but such cases in my practice were not counted.
In a couple, everyone lives on their own. Most likely, there is not even intimacy. And if there is, and there everyone is for himself. There is no attention to the partner.

Force

A card that is amazing in terms of energy, which sometimes frightens modest clients with the frankness of the drawing.
This is a picture from a comic book about midgets and Gulliver. The woman first came to Lilliput, and then to the giants, and so we see what happened to her with the latter.
In layouts, the card can say:
a) About the physiological, psychological, sexual incompatibility of partners.
b) About the great power of passion and attraction between them. Animal magnetism, sex, like the last time, a binding of such strength that no one is able to break it.
Relationships are exhausting, but look, the heroine does not look unhappy.
For those who want to completely immerse themselves in Manara and understand this map, I advise you to read on the Web what vector marriage in astrology. I have not seen a better description of this map than vector relations.
To the question: "Does he love me?" answer: "Yes, crazy, but he wants more."
Will the relationship continue? “Yeah, until you wear each other down completely?”

If the card falls on the relationship of a partner to your rival (rival), you don’t have to worry anymore, you can’t break this connection, you can be thrown in the heat of insane passion for a new object.
To the question: "What sex?" - the answer is: “Amazing!”, Not counting the cases when the card indicates the incompatibility of partners, but here we must take into account other arcana in the layout.
