But I began to fall when walking, I had swelling and shortness of breath. Then my doctor friend said that I should get rid of excess weight. And then there was a completely medical history. I went through various doctors - a phlebologist, an endocrinologist, a cardiologist, a surgeon, and only at the last moment went to a nutritionist. Not vice versa. It is necessary that all specialists write a program for the treatment of the disease. This program took me almost seven years. Now I weigh 100 kg, that is, I have not turned into a fashion model, but I got rid of the problems.

What rules have you followed these years?

I can not boast that I am a strong-willed woman. Under medical supervision, I reduced the amount of food very, very slowly. For example, I love sorrel soup. And if I could eat a bowl of soup, now I eat a creamer - and I'm full. But the journey from the basin to the bowl took seven years, I gradually reduced the portions, literally by the spoonful. Therefore, I did not have any breakdowns, because food restriction, diets are a terrible stress, a fright for the body. We love meat at the stake. I ate three skewers, and now I eat three pieces - and I don’t want to anymore. I taught myself to eat some soup for lunch and dinner - now I love it. Diet food doesn't have to be tasteless. I learned how to make everything delicious: pureed soups of mushrooms, spinach, cauliflower, young green peas and lentils. The only thing that was hard for me to refuse was a sandwich with sausage. I like fresh bread with a thick piece of boiled sausage or with a thin raw smoked one. I didn’t eat this for a very long time, but now I can afford it in small quantities.

Does your family support the New Deal?

Yes, because the main thing for men is tasty. I stopped cooking side dishes for meat, we now have light salads. The simplest thing we love: thickly sliced ​​cucumbers with coarse sea salt and plenty of olive oil. It's also great for peristalsis. By the way, we never ate fish, moreover, I was allergic to it. And now I love nothing more than a piece of fish, poured with a light sauce with herbs, shrimp with herbs and lemon. And no allergies.

Have you experimented with diets before?

Oh sure. I lost a lot of weight during my first pregnancy, because all nine months I suffered from severe toxicosis, I could neither eat nor smell food. I had a wonderful doctor who said that a child in the womb is so protected and harmonious that even from a glass of milk he will take everything he needs and be born healthy. The son was born 4 kg in weight, and now he is 190 cm tall. I then lost 25 kg, but then gained quickly and a lot. With my second son, I lost 10 kilograms, but gained it again. And then, like any girl whose youth fell on the 90s, I got into this rigmarole with glossy magazines. Now I understand that this is nonsense, and that my sixth breast size is not a misfortune, but a godsend for my husband, and then it seemed to me that I was a freak. And I began to try some kind of rice water, kefir fasting days, eating buckwheat porridge with honey ... All this resulted in severe suffering, because I really love to eat and I can’t not eat! Since then, I have been a principled opponent of diets, I do not believe that a diet can be universal for everyone. If you gained an extra 1.5 kg over the summer, then this is not overweight. Just go from fried pork to fish for a week and the sizes will shrink.

How do you feel before and after losing weight?

The process of losing weight was long and slow, but of course, I improved my health. My blood pressure leveled off, shortness of breath disappeared. There were changes in taste - I fell in love with what I didn’t like or didn’t eat before: fish, seafood, soups, asparagus. I have made my life easier in terms of clothes. Plus size clothing in Russia is just a disaster, it is miserable, but it simply does not exist. Now I enjoy the fact that in many stores in the last row there is something in my size. This is my main pleasure.

Do you do fitness?

As it was not in my life, so it is not. Of course, we sometimes ride bicycles, go cross-country skiing, twice a year at the sea or in the pool I swim. But there is no talk of any regular physical activity. This, of course, is outdated and bad. But why should I go to a fitness club to pump press? I'm not sure it's good: a place of 100 square meters where a hundred people sweat, grunt, cough. And the simulator is wiped after the same sufferer as me? No matter how expensive the club is, everything is the same there.

Have you ever wanted to experiment with style?

I just think that I changed dramatically when I dyed my hair blonde, because I just turned gray. I am in my 40s and now I understand how to dress to look good. A pink ruffled dress will make me feel awkward, and stiletto heels will probably make me fall because I have astigmatism and I keep counting crows all the time. But I love long skirts and strange dresses. I have 229 pairs of glasses for every day, I love jewelry very much. I love shoes, especially on different platforms. I like jeans and ripped t-shirts. And now I can afford it all!

Women who work as a face sooner or later go to beauty salons. What do you do to like yourself in the frame?

We have gentle genetics in the female line - we are slowly aging. In my case, various wrinkle care products help me. But I understand that this effect is superficial and short-lived. I am loyal to plastic surgery, but so far I don’t think about it and I don’t want to inject anything into myself, because I don’t really believe in it. I still have enough facial massage and seaweed masks that my beautician makes for me.

FAMILY IS ESSENTIAL

Your heroines in novels are like Cinderellas. At first everything is bad for them, and then it’s good - always a man, love, family. Why this particular scenario?

For me, a possible, understandable and harmonious arrangement of the world is a family, children, parents, sisters, brothers, nephews. I just write about the life that I myself know and understand. The worst thing is when a person has everything, because then he has no reason to develop and eventually understand why he came here. Is it just to eat and shit? From my point of view, Cinderellas are all of us: boys, girls, adults and young. We all endlessly reflect, we don’t refine, we don’t get it, we all feel bad, we gnaw ourselves, reproach, complex. 300 thousand people can tell you that you are great, and you will think that this is not so until you see approval in those only eyes that matter to you. The most important thing for me is family. It is not customary for us to scold each other and criticize. There are a lot of people around who will criticize. And the family is a fortress, behind the walls of which you know ironically that no one will ever hurt you. Without it, you are barefoot, naked and on the edge of a cliff. We are always for each other.

How do you feel about praise?

I'm shy, I'm embarrassed, my ears are on fire, I huddle up and say - you're wrong. But then I remember the words, I'm pleased, I talk about it at home. Of course, I have bouts of self-criticism, when I suddenly realize that I'm mediocre, nobody, I'm doing something incomprehensible and I don't deserve to be in literature. I am always dissatisfied with myself.

Today, everyone easily gets married and divorced, and you and your husband have been together for a hundred years. What is your relationship based on?

This is Love. I always tell girls - choose interesting men. Not for beauty, not for wallets. My husband confuses Anastasia Volochkova with Anastasia Zavorotnyuk, it is impossible to discuss secular news with him. But he is an educated man, and I like that. He tells such things about everything around, which are extremely interesting to me. And all the years he finds something to tell me and how to surprise me. When my husband goes on a business trip, it happens for three weeks, my whole life immediately goes wrong. There is no one to talk to the eldest son, no one to solve geometry with the younger one, no one to walk the dog, no one to take care of the cornice ... In my coordinate system, the universe is built around a man. Of course, a woman builds it, but she builds it around an axis.

You have three men in your family, do you manage to pamper them with something tasty?

I don't believe those women who say they don't have time to cook. If you have a family, children, then you cook. And I cook every day. My husband arrives, I get out from behind the computer, sometimes cursing everything, sometimes fluttering joyfully, and it starts: spaghetti with basil and tomatoes, roast duck, rooster in wine, halibut in white sauce ... I like to stand by the stove. When I leave, my husband dominates the kitchen, his signature dish is fried steaks with pasta ( laughs). And there are always a lot of people at our house - our friends and friends of children. We are such Georgians - we accept everyone, we feed from the heart, we talk. And the conversation in these stories occupies a huge place.

Where is the best place for you to relax?

In the Baltics, my husband's homeland. White sand, sea, strong wind, bright sun, a cup of coffee after sex, a white sofa on green grass, a wooden pier so that no one is there so that you can read the Nibelungenlied in the morning - a completely incomprehensible and unrelated work . So that you can sit in the water and run into a tiny spa with a massage therapist. So that you can go to the cathedral for an organ concert and to the royal castle for an exhibition of paintings. And at home, the perfect vacation is a delicious dinner while talking. We talk endlessly without closing our mouths. And when everyone goes on business - an English series, a warm blanket, favorite jeans and a sofa.

Tatyana Vitalievna, you not only write books, but also broadcast on radio and television. How do you prepare and recover after filming?

We are recording several interviews for the program "My Hero". If we talk about psychological preparation, then it is important for me to find in the interlocutor what interests me personally, whether it is his love or relationship with my grandmother, passion for a car or dogs. If a person is not interested, then a boring, long and tiresome story will turn out for everyone. And physically it’s really hard to sit for an hour and a half, straightening your back. You get out from under the camera and you realize that you are skewed to one side, and there are three more heroes ahead and you need to somehow contrive and skew to the other side in order to sit straight again. Therefore, after recording several programs, I try to be like a massage therapist for at least three sessions. My masseur, a former athlete, sees me and every time he says: “Oh, how you’ve been shattered!”

You live in the suburbs. What is the thrill of country life for you?

Believe it or not, we work there. I won’t even come up with fairy tales about how we kayak along our river or run in the park ... Although my husband has been running his cross for 30 years. Life outside the city is a habitual form of existence for us, I was born and raised in Zhukovsky near Moscow. We are used to the fact that our personal space is limited not by the walls of the apartment, but by the fence. There is. You can't work on a novel today, quit tomorrow, and continue in two days. I need a month and a half to write a novel, which means that during this time I don’t plan interviews, I don’t go to television, I don’t sympathize with widows, I don’t comfort orphans, I don’t treat the sick, I don’t answer calls. I don't get up until nine in the morning. I drink tea and only English. My eldest son Misha and I are passionate tea lovers. You know, Anna Akhmatova divided people according to three criteria: the first - tea, dog, Pasternak, and the second - coffee, cat, Mandelstam. So here I am first laughs). After I drink tea in the morning, I write for three hours. At 12 I have breakfast, for example, scrambled eggs, pancakes or cottage cheese. Look, once I weighed about 200 kilograms, to be exact - 189! Many years passed, and I began to weigh 100. Now my weight, apparently, is 90 kilograms. I don’t weigh myself every day, I’m not a prize pig from the Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy. These ten kilograms must have become noticeable - here, for example, in that photograph - because the weight held on for a long time without changing. Of course, the process continues, but - let's be aware of this - I will never weigh the now fashionable 55 kilograms! Yes, and I don’t want to!

An incredibly exciting question for everyone: how did you lose weight? And what was the turning point when they decided: that's it, stop living anyhow.

Oh, this is really an exciting question - who and how is losing weight! Frankly, I am terribly surprised and amused by precisely this desire of today's human community for thinness and youth! It would be nice, damn it, all as one wanted to learn how to write in Latin, learn string theory or grow apple trees on Mars! It wasn't there! Physics and Latin aside, the main thing is that everyone is thin! And young! Every single one! Here is a seventy-five-year-old grandmother, but she should not pickle cucumbers and plant potatoes, but should strive to look 38 and weigh the same 55! Well, it's funny!

I began to lose weight for medical reasons, exclusively for them, more than ten years ago. At that time I was dizzy all the time, my legs gave way, there were swelling, shortness of breath and all that stuff. Well, you see, 189 kg is a bit too much.

- What specialists were involved? Have any of the doctors become your friend over the years?

There are many doctors in my circle. Exactly friends! And so I clung to one of them, like a tick - this happens when many systems of life are upset, disrupted, from hormonal to nervous. And he is in fact the Great Russian Doctor - all words are capitalized, and there is no irony. I remember very well how my mother called me an ambulance - I was sure that I was about to die - the doctors, tortured by real patients, shrugged their shoulders, gave me valerian drops and left, and I began to call this friend of mine. He is a surgeon and does not understand women's fanaberies well. "I won't die, Igor Evgenievich?" I asked in a trembling voice. And he answered in a firm voice: “Now - no!” The next day it all happened again. And so many months in a row! Then he got tired of this case, and he strictly said: you need to be treated. I agreed and went to the doctors - an endocrinologist, a phlebologist, a cardiologist, a surgeon, and so on. It's boring and dreary - going to the doctors, taking tests, tests for all sorts of hormones and enzymes, this, that, the fifth or tenth. And then - the recommendations must be followed, the drugs taken, the instructions followed, and this is even more boring and dreary.

I wonder if you began to write about food in a different way? Did your heroes take on the feasts that you refused? Or did some characters lose weight? Or maybe you decided in a detective story to kill a nutritionist who has some resemblance to yours?

As much as I used to love it, I still love to write about food. And even more - read! Chekhov, for example. Oh, how beautifully he wrote about it! Gogol is great too. Pokhlebkin, Weil, Genis! But I don’t have any nutritionist - if I had, I would definitely have killed. I met a nutritionist once - three years after I started to lose weight, went, received recommendations and never saw him again.

You always want to p-time - and the problem is solved. Thinking about stomach reduction surgery and liposuction?

I don't believe in liposuction. It must be the rudiments of knowledge in physics. Pour sand into the bag. You can dilute it with water for clarity. Then scoop the sand out of the bag with a baby scoop. Take a look at the package. Of course, it decreased in volume - by the amount of sand that we scooped out. But the package itself has not changed at all. It is foolish to think that it will not be possible to pour the next batch of sand into it - how else can it be! And explain to me after that - what is the point of liposuction? Purely so, to occupy yourself? I think that the operation to reduce the stomach is more effective, but a professional opinion is definitely needed here, I am sure that it is not always indicated for everyone and not always. And it should be used in some extreme cases, but here I am definitely not an expert. Everything must be decided by the doctor!

- Can you tell what turned out to be the most effective, and what was useless?

I'll tell a story. Since adolescence, my stomach hurts, sometimes less, sometimes more, sometimes it doesn’t hurt at all! And I treat him, then I don’t treat him, then I still treat him! And so my friend the Great Russian Doctor prescribes some pills for me and tells me to take them - so that my stomach does not hurt. And I myself, on my own initiative, refuse for a while from everything except oatmeal and rice porridge. A week or two passes, they make me a control study, the result is excellent, nothing hurts. I, proud of myself, announce to my friend that the stomach has passed, since I ate right.
