17th - 20th days: 1 tab. every 5 hours, 3 times in total. The daily dose is 4.5 mg (table 3).
21st - 25th days: 1 tab. 2 times a day, then 1 time a day. The daily dose is reduced to 1.5 mg (1 tab.).

The number of cigarettes smoked per day should gradually decrease, and on the 5th day of treatment the patient should stop smoking completely. If this effect cannot be achieved, Tabex is discontinued. After 2-3 months, the course of treatment begins again; if this attempt fails, the patient should look for another way to stop smoking.

The possibility of using cytisine as a smoking cessation aid was first explored in Bulgaria in the 1960s. S. Stoyanov and M. Yanachkova received the first confirmation that cytisine changes the body's response to nicotine, which means it can be used in anti-smoking therapy.
