What is a dispute on Aliexpress

Select the desired order, mark the desired product with a checkbox and click the Open Dispute button.

Please note the Expected Solution. It has two options:

  • Return of goods and money
  • Refund only.

Return of goods and money implies that you return the goods to the seller BEFORE you receive your money back. In most cases, you will also pay for shipping to China. Therefore, it is worth thinking carefully before marking this item.

Depending on what you select in the Expected Solution, you will have different options in the Problem encountered. Often sellers offer a solution shortly before the timer expires. They do it on purpose to drag out the argument. As soon as the seller makes you an offer, the timer will be reset.

After the seller offers a solution to the dispute, you will have two buttons available: Accept or Reject. In principle, it is not necessary to click on them at all if you do not like the solution. Regardless of whether you click on Reject or just do nothing, sooner or later the Administration will come and decide who is right and who is not.

However, if you are passive in the dispute, your position will be unclear, that is, there is a chance that your silence will be regarded as that there is no longer a problem and they will take the side of the seller.

So if the seller's decision does not suit you, click Reject .

Correspondence with the seller in a dispute

After you open a dispute, you often begin to communicate with the seller in the comments to the dispute. The important point here is that all your agreements in this correspondence DO NOT MATTER AT ALL.

The seller can promise you anything there: a refund of all the money (just close the dispute), resending the goods and another wagon of gifts (just close the dispute), 200% discounts on the next order (just close the dispute). IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO CANCEL A DISPUTE FOR WHICH THE PROTECTION IS ALREADY EXPIRED!!! Do not confuse the dispute timer with the protection period !!

After you have checked the protection period, click on the Cancel Dispute button and the dispute is closed with the Dispute canceled status.

Previously, a dispute canceled at the Aggravation stage led to the closure of the order, regardless of the protection period. Now even an aggravated dispute can be canceled and reopened (provided that the protection period has not expired).

Do not confuse the decision of the seller with the cancellation of the dispute. Cancellation of the dispute is made only by clicking on the Cancel dispute button.

Separately, it is worth considering the situation when the seller offers to close the current dispute and place a new order for the same product, where he will make you a price tag of $0.01. What happens is you close the dispute for, say, $100. Make a new order for 1 cent. Nothing comes. You can no longer open an old dispute for $100. And for a new order, you can only claim the amount that you paid - that is, 1 cent. Don't fall for this simple hack!

You will receive money for this dispute only when the seller confirms receipt of the return and provided that he does not open a dispute already on you.
