Yes, there are smaller systems closer, including satellite galaxies, and Andromeda herself has at least fourteen of them. But of the giants, Andromeda is closest to us and with every second reduces this distance by more than a hundred kilometers.

Three billion years later, it will be possible to view M31 in all its details just by looking at the sky, and after four and a half billion years, the Milky Way and Andromeda will most likely collide, forming a single huge galaxy. Andromeda, unlike other large galaxies of the northern hemisphere, can still be seen with the naked eye in our century, which astronomers of the past readily used. Judging by the old records, the Persians discovered M31 - the first written evidence of this dates back to the tenth century.

Only now astronomers began to study it seriously after almost seven hundred years. Around that time, they began to understand that Andromeda is not just a gas and dust nebula, it consists of a huge number of stars. Well, the first photograph of the galaxy appeared even later, in 1887: the picture was taken by an astronomer from Wales, Isaac Roberts, who considered M31 to be part of our galaxy.

However, despite the relative "proximity", Andromeda is still very far away. So much so that the image of M31 in the starry sky, visible to us, was valid two and a half million years ago - that is how long it takes the light from this galaxy to reach the Earth.

You may have a question: how then did the heroes of Andromeda understand where to fly, and even knew about some "golden worlds"? They were assisted by geth technology, which allowed them to see far ahead with the help of three connected mass relays. So far away that the data turned out to be almost “up-to-date”. It is a pity that in reality no one has yet invented such tools.

Unfortunately, "Andromeda" fails the main thing - to awaken the spirit of the explorer in the player. Ancient ruins, abandoned shacks or guard posts constantly come across the eye, but understanding quickly comes: they do not bode well. interesting - only a couple of enemies and, perhaps, a modest reward in the form of resources for crafting. The jaw does not reduce from boredom only thanks to the juicy action. It's not that Mass Effect is played for gunfights, but Andromeda is good. Thanks to the jetpack, the battles have noticeably increased in dynamics - there is no point in sitting in a shelter. It is much more reasonable to actively jump across the battlefield. The development system allows you to master a couple of dozens of various combat skills, which are a pleasure to use. But even here the authors spoil their own good idea - only three skills can be active at the same time. Why not at least eight, modeled on the same Inquisition?

The limitation fits well only in the multiplayer, which develops the ideas of the third part. The essence is the same: the four heroes go to the arena and fight off crowds of enemies. The increased dynamics of the cooperative regime suits. If you liked these missions before, then the online mode can drag out for a long time. Although the balance seems strange - a team of entry-level fighters is unlikely to cope with the task even on the minimum difficulty, the enemies are so tenacious and aggressive here.
