Lidaza is an enzyme medicine for external use. The instructions for use indicate that injections in ampoules for injection and local electrophoresis of 64 UE in solution are widely used in medicine to reduce swelling and eliminate scars.

Release form and composition

Lidase powder has white, it is prepared by lyophilization (drying a solution under vacuum). The main active ingredient of the drug is the enzyme hyaluronidase, its content in one ampoule is 64 IU (units of action).

Ampoules with Lidaza powder are packaged in packs of 10 pieces. A cardboard box contains one package of ampoules and instructions for use of the drug.

Pharmacological action

The basis of this medication is the enzyme hyaluronidase, which is isolated from the testes of cattle. Thanks to this enzyme, the use of Lidase causes the breakdown of hyaluronic acid (which is a cementing component of connective tissue), reduces its viscosity, increases tissue and vascular permeability, softens scars and reduces swelling. The drug reduces and prevents contractures.

Indications for use

What does Lidaza help with? The drug is prescribed for the treatment of many diseases, as well as specific symptoms. In the list of indications for use this drug includes:

  • superficial soft tissue hematoma;
  • hemophthalmos;
  • scarring of various nature origin (postoperative, traumatic or burn);
  • skin diseases, including scleroderma;
  • retinopathy;
  • joint contractures that occur after injury or inflammation;
  • diseases affecting the lumbar spine;
  • inflammation of the upper respiratory tract accompanied by obstruction;
  • osteoarthritis;

Instructions for use

Lidase in injections is prescribed for the treatment of scar lesions:

  • Subcutaneously - by injection under scar tissue;
  • Intramuscularly - by injection into the area that borders the site of the lesion.

As a rule, Lidaza injections are prescribed in a dosage of 1 ml daily or every other day. The course of treatment includes from 10 to 20 injections.

Lidaza injections (subcutaneously) are also prescribed for the treatment of peripheral nerves and traumatic lesions of the nerve plexuses. The medication is administered into the area of the affected nerve in an amount of 1 ml every other day. The course of treatment includes 12-15 injections, which can be repeated if necessary.

In ophthalmology, electrophoresis with Lidase is used, and the drug can be administered subconjunctivally (0.3 ml each) and parabulbarly (0.5 ml each).

In the treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis, which is a productive inflammation, Lidaza is usually prescribed as part of complex therapy to increase the concentration of antibacterial drugs in the affected areas.

The medicine is prescribed:

  • In the form of injections - daily;
  • In the form of inhalations - daily, 5 ml once a day, a course of 20-25 inhalations.

External use of Lidase is effective in the form of bandages that are soaked in a drug solution.

To prepare it, an ampoule with the medication is dissolved in 10 ml of water (boiled, not higher than room temperature) or a 0.9% sterile NaCl solution, after which a sterile dressing is moistened (in 4-5 layers). After application to the affected area, it is covered with wax paper and, if necessary, secured with a soft bandage. The dose of the solution depends on the area of affected skin.

Lidaza dressings should be used daily for 15 days to two months. The procedure time is 15-18 hours. For long-term treatment, you should take a break of 3-4 days every 2 weeks of therapy.

To carry out electrophoresis with Lidase 300 IU, the drug should be dissolved in 60 ml of distilled water, add a few drops of 0.1% HCl solution. The procedure time is 20-30 minutes, the course of treatment is 15-20 procedures.

Electrophoresis with Lidase can be alternated with an application dosing regimen. The solution prepared for the procedures must be used within 24 hours. Lidase solution should not be administered through a catheter that has previously been used to administer solutions containing cations.

General characteristics. Compound:

Active ingredient: hyaluronidase enzyme (64 UE in 1 bottle).

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacolinamics. The drug contains as active substance hyaluronidase. The specific substrate of hyaluronidase is hyaluronic acid: the enzyme causes the rupture of the bond between C1 acetylglucosamine and C4 glucuronic acid.

The drug reduces the viscosity of hyaluronic acid. Increases tissue permeability, improves their trophism, increases the elasticity of scarred areas, promotes the resorption of hematomas, elimination, and increases joint mobility. Facilitates the diffusion of fluids in the interstitial space (“diffusion factor”).

The effect of hyaluronidase is reversible: when its concentration decreases, the viscosity of hyaluronic acid is restored. When administered intradermally, the duration of action of the drug is 48 hours.

Indications for use:

The main indications for the use of lidase are joint contractures, scars after surgery, ankylosing spondylitis, traumatic lesions of the plexuses and peripheral nerves (plexitis), severe diseases of the lumbar discs.

In ophthalmic practice, lidase is used for finer scarring of affected areas of the cornea. It is also administered under the skin of the temple for retinopathy, under the conjunctiva, retrobulbar, into the vitreous body for hemorrhages. Patients with pulmonary tuberculosis with a productive nature of inflammation are prescribed lidase in the form of injections and inhalations in complex therapy to increase the concentration of antibacterial substances in the lesions.

Lidase is also prescribed to accelerate absorption medicinal substances, administered subcutaneously and intramuscularly (local anesthetics, muscle relaxants, isotonic solutions, etc.).

Injections are made daily or every other day; the course of treatment consists of 6-10-15 or more injections. Therapeutic effect manifested by softening of scars, the appearance of mobility in joints, elimination or reduction of contractures, resorption of hematomas; the effect is more pronounced in initial stages pathological process.

In patients with traumatic lesions of the plexuses and peripheral nerves (brachial plexitis after a bruise, traumatic mononeuritis, etc.), the drug is administered subcutaneously into the area of the affected nerve (64 UE in novocaine solution) every other day; per course - 12-15 injections. For tuberculosis and respiratory diseases, the medication is recommended to be used in the form of injections or inhalations.

In gynecological practice, Lidaza is used in the form of suppositories and injections. Suppositories (1 piece) are inserted into the vagina once a day every 2 days. The course of therapy is 10 injections.

If necessary, use dressings, use a special solution "Lidase". How to dilute this medicine? It is diluted with boiled water, as well as 10 ml of a 9 percent sterile sodium chloride solution. These components are mixed in a container, where the bandage is subsequently placed. After this, it is applied to the affected area, and placed on top and secured with a bandage.

  • regular hemoptysis;
  • continuous bleeding;
  • tuberculosis in all forms;
  • hemorrhage into the vitreous body.

Directions for use

To treat scar lesions, the medication is administered subcutaneously or intramuscularly. IN the latter case the injection is made as close as possible to the lesion, and in the first - directly under the scar.

The dose of this drug is 1 ml once a day for 15-20 days. If the scars are shallow, then injections can be performed every other day.

Ophthalmic diseases are treated using electrophoresis, as well as by instilling a 0.1% solution into the eyes. With this therapy, antibiotics are additionally used.
