Why don't people drink? Diseases associated with alcoholism

Why do people drink alcohol?

Why do people drink? – strangely enough, neither can they really answer this question themselves drinking people, nor those who are trying to treat them. Drinkers come up with various excuses, but an honest answer, if given, is very rare. Why? Because drinkers themselves have no answer. But we will try to understand.

The reasons for drunkenness are different, and the most common is a lack of hobbies and interests. It is human nature to strive for pleasure, feeling better. But people who are passionate about something get satisfaction from their favorite activities, and alcohol only interferes with their activities. People are not born drinkers, they become drinkers, and quite slowly. This requires time, which busy man simply no.

For many, going to a relative's birthday, wedding, or simply celebrating some holiday is simply a punishment. They want it all to end as soon as possible and for them to return to their favorite pastime. For some it’s a sport, others are fanatically and incessantly engaged in remodeling and improving their homes, others are obsessed with animals, and, in the end, business.

People climb mountains, go hiking, are captivated by the computer, etc. But all this, due to the significant difference between people in the structure of the psyche and level of intelligence, is not accessible to everyone. Not everyone. Probably everyone remembers their class, and the fact that there were excellent students, bad students, and good students, well, just like in any group of students.

I myself studied in five schools, so I have enough observations. And here are the conclusions I came to. The majority of good people do not become drunkards. Only in isolated cases. And the risk group includes excellent students and hopeless poor students. The first, probably because they didn’t get what they expected from life, the second, because they didn’t expect anything from the very beginning. That's about it. I'm only talking about the trend.

People who stand firmly on their feet are, oddly enough, usually made from bad and average students. The bad ones, not the completely hopeless ones. Although this does not mean at all that a great future awaits the unsuccessful student.

Conversely, excellent students rarely reach great heights. Again, there are no rules without exceptions. I'm talking about percentage here. Good and C students make up a larger percentage of independent, proactive people who are confident that they are right than excellent students. Although it seems that everything should be exactly the opposite.

The reason for this paradox is that successful and diligent students, for the most part, are very afraid of condemnation and censure, often achieving knowledge by meaningless cramming, without understanding the meaning of the subject being studied. The main thing is to get a good grade. This is their main goal. In the worst cases, the only one.

Of course, ingenuity and ingenuity, among students with “excellent academic performance,” may sometimes be completely absent. Their entire life follows generally accepted rules, and they can only act within the limits of the knowledge they have received, or frankly, crammed into their heads. They always “know exactly” what is possible and what is not.

Losers often care what they think about them. They study only what interests them and do what they enjoy. They can go against social norms and generally against the flow of life more often and more freely. Will someone judge? They are not used to this. I've been judged all my life. That is, the brake on condemnation does not work here. Boring? I drank and became more cheerful. Well, what obstacles.

Mostly, of course, they drink themselves to death in their youth, when the wind is blowing through their heads. Excellent students may be overcome by vodka later, when they begin to realize that they will never get from life what they have been spoiled for. The fact that like attracts like is also of great importance. Loser students are drawn to poor students, excellent students to excellent students.

Well, together, those that are already strength. And if former excellent student If he gets ready to drink vodka one more time, he will face condemnation from his friends. But when a person who was a poor student in the past decided to screw it up, he will most likely find support for the idea in his environment. The environment is of great importance.

It is also necessary to keep in mind that excellent students usually life path they start from universities, and poor students from vocational schools, or from factories. Where drunkenness is more developed, I think there is no need to say. What's in the factory? I came home from work - there’s nothing to do, let’s go drink beer. On the weekend again - take a bottle, let's go to me. That's all there is to it.

Sometimes even enthusiastic people start drinking. This happens in cases where for some reason they are deprived of the opportunity to do what they love. One of my close friends was very serious about motocross at one time. Took second place in Ukraine in the late 70s.

One day, my friend fell off his motorcycle so “successfully” that he was barely saved; his face was smashed into pieces on a stone. Big sport was closed to him. He started drinking. Motorsports was his life. This is how forgotten actors and athletes drink themselves to death. There is simply no need for them to be sober.

When a person's friendship with vodka goes far, another thing begins to play a role. The fact is that our bodies constantly produce substances - endorphins. They are also called “joy hormones” or “happiness hormones”. We need them to maintain normality. vitality, to see life a little more rosier than it is. Their chemical composition and the mode of action is very similar to morphine.

There are people with a congenital deficiency of these hormones. They seem to be nailed down all the time, they are silent, you can’t get a word out, and when they drink, they just glow with happiness. Our body's self-regulation system strives to support mental condition a person at the required level, producing endorphins in a certain amount.

But when a drinker uses alcohol to almost constantly keep his mood higher than usual, the production of joy hormones is suspended. How else? If it’s so good, why develop anything else? It is precisely because of the similarity of endorphins with morphine that it is so difficult for morphine addicts to “get off the needle.” They stop producing essential hormones altogether.

Over time, many drinkers, and especially those who have reached the point of alcoholism, begin to experience depression when sober. “Happiness is not produced inside”; it awaits input from the outside. And until the poor guy drinks, he simply cannot return to normal. Normal condition becomes drunk. If you don’t drink at all for some time, for example a year, everything returns to normal. Again good without vodka.

Well, and of course, the most difficult case is the binge of an alcoholic. This option cannot be said in a fairy tale, nor can it be described with a pen. An alcoholic on a binge, as soon as he begins to sober up, often feels, without exaggeration, on the verge of death. Life appears in such a dark light that it seems it couldn’t get any worse. I am well acquainted with how an alcoholic feels at this time, so I never judge those who find themselves on a binge. Well, a person can’t cope. It's really very difficult.

By the way, once I caught a condition that made me believe that it could always be even worse. I achieved this through reckless use psychotropic drugs. I was twenty then. There is a draft in my head. I will definitely describe this moment sometime. When I remember what I experienced then, even now, thirty years later, I get goosebumps.

I put off writing this article for two months, the topic seemed so complicated to me. But I re-read it, and it seems good. The main ideas are expressed. If you have any opinions, please express them in the comments. Any opinions, even complete disagreement.

So, let's draw the line. Why do people drink? I think we can draw the following conclusions:

From idleness, lack of vital interests.

“Alcohol causes more harm to humanity than war, famine
and the plague together" (Charles Darwin)

Stupid features, irritability, uncertainty, dull eyes, feelings of guilt and shame... All this can be read on the face drinking man.

Why do people drink alcohol if it brings so much trouble and grief that even wars do not? Murder, robbery, fight, betrayal, accident, broken family, loss of job - this is just a grain of what comes with alcohol.

There are 4 main reasons that explain why people drink alcohol:

1. The alcohol program of the subconscious is a set of beliefs and beliefs that drinking is normal and even necessary;
2. The habit of celebrating any occasion and drinking on weekends, holidays, during meetings, after work;
3. Need for alcohol;
4. Alcohol addiction.

Let's take a closer look at them.

1. People drink alcohol because there is an alcohol program.

This subconscious program is formed from childhood. The child sees how close people drink alcohol on holidays, rejoice, sing songs, and dance. They feel good and have fun. The kid notices that if dad drinks, he becomes kinder, buys toys and laughs more often.

Children sit at a common festive table, listen to toasts and clink glasses with adults. Yes, there is juice in a child’s glass, but the belief is already ingrained in your head that you can only celebrate with alcohol.

"Ratatouille" (cartoon for children)

There were cases when children came to kindergarten after the New Year holidays and played on holiday: they sat at the table and clinked glasses with their toy cups.

The alcohol program is also established through television, magazines, films, songs, and sayings. Remember any movie or TV series - people drink everywhere. “Enjoy your Bath”, “Old New Year", "The Diamond Arm", "Kitchen", "Interns", "Univer" ...

Everywhere people go through various life tests, adventures, events and drink alcohol. This forms deep-seated beliefs in the viewer’s subconscious that drinking alcohol is not only possible, but also necessary.

“The Diamond Arm” (cult Soviet film for the whole family)

It's the same in songs and sayings. “Wine has been given to us for joy”, “Whoever does not smoke or drink will die healthy”, “The drunken sea is knee-deep”, “I’m drunk and drunk...”, “I drink to the bottom for those who are at sea.” There are hundreds and thousands of examples. And every time, listening and singing along, a person strengthens his subconscious alcohol program.

2. People drink alcohol because it's a habit.

Culture and tradition shape the drinking program, which creates drinking habits. If we meet with friends, we definitely drink. If we celebrate a holiday, we drink. We go fishing, to the bathhouse, to nature, to a disco - we drink.

When a person starts drinking regularly: on holidays, weekends, after work, he develops a drinking habit. And the question no longer arises: to drink or not to drink, but the question arises: what to drink? Beer or wine, vodka or whiskey. That is, the question already falls into another plane, where any choice is false.

There was a time when every evening after work I would board a commuter train and drive home from Moscow. I bought beer to relax and distract myself on the road. At first it was one bottle, then two, three... And I could no longer imagine that I could drive home from work and not drink. It became a daily habit.

3. People drink alcohol because there is a need.

This happens when a person can no longer give up alcohol. He drinks regularly, once a week or more often.

Yes, he can regularly go to work, raise children, drive a car, manage people, that is, be a normal worker, husband, father. But without alcohol, this person can no longer rest, relax, he is always missing something. He's already looking for an excuse to drink. Finds and drinks.

I was just at this stage when I realized what a trap I had been sucked into.

4. People drink alcohol because they are addicted.

Need develops into addiction. A person can no longer control himself; he is controlled by alcohol. At first he is ashamed of his addiction and drinks on the sly. Then he no longer hides and drinks in front of everyone.

Alcohol becomes the meaning of his life. Relationships with loved ones collapse, he loses his job. Now he is surrounded by alcoholic drinking buddies. They gather in the morning somewhere in a “patch” near a store or in the courtyard on a bench and figure out how they can buy something to drink. They ask passers-by for money, take out everything that can be sold from the house...

And it all started so beautifully: a glass of champagne, cold beer with fish... Moderate “cultural” drinking creates alcoholic habits that lead to need and dependence.

In order to get rid of the alcohol habit, need and dependence, it is important to start by changing the alcohol program, which is embedded in the subconscious. It is this program - a set of false beliefs and beliefs - that is the root of all problems with alcohol.

To change these beliefs and change the program of the subconscious, you just need to find out the truth about alcohol.

What is alcohol and how does it work?

Alcohol, or spirit of wine, is an ethanol drug with the formula C2H5OH. Its effects have long been recognized by doctors around the world as toxic and narcotic.

Alcohol is also a huge, serious business that earns billions. The cost of a bottle of vodka is approximately 20 rubles. The cost in the store is from 200 rubles and above. The only more profitable trade is drugs and weapons. Alcohol magnates invest incredible amounts of money in promoting so-called “cultural” drinking.

But in society, alcohol is perceived as food product, which is served for the holiday. He amuses, fools, and with him people go through various adventures. And most importantly, he justifies the stupidity that a person commits while drunk: “Well, I was drunk, what can you take from me.”

There is not a single organ in the human body that does not suffer from alcohol. But the brain suffers the most.

I'll explain how this happens.

There are capillaries in the human body - the thinnest vessels through which oxygen and nutrients flow to all organs. Erythrocytes move through the capillaries - red blood cells, which carry oxygen from the lungs to every cell of the body. Red blood cells are covered with a lipid layer - a lubricant that allows them to easily slide through the capillaries.

Alcohol removes the lipid layer from red blood cells, and they begin to stick together. And they are already moving through the capillaries not one at a time, but in lumps, in the form of a bunch of grapes.

In the head there are areas in the brain tissue where the capillaries are so thin that red blood cells ( blood cells) can only pass one at a time. And when a lump of red blood cells that have stuck together under the influence of alcohol enters this capillary, a blood clot forms there. Like a traffic jam or a plug in a pipe.

The next morning, the dead cells leave the body along with water. Why do you feel so thirsty in the morning when you have a hangover? Because the body needs water to flush out the corpses of decaying cells from the head. They literally tear away from the brain tissue, which is why hangovers cause so much headache. Dead cells leave the body in urine. Any conscientious doctor will confirm this to you - a drunkard urinates his brains in the morning.

And this does not depend on the dose. Any dose of alcohol - a glass of champagne, a bottle of beer, a can of cocktail or a shot of vodka - destroys the brain. Just than more people drank, the more destruction.

Look at the face of a drinking person - everything is written on it. You want to quickly look away from such a face. Why do you think? Because, like in a mirror, it reflects what you don’t want to accept in yourself. Any dose of alcohol brings you closer to such a face. And this process is irreversible; brain cells are not restored.

Think about this the next time you pick up a bottle of beer or glass of wine. Remember the face of a drinking man, his gloomy life, his terrible appearance, his depression and helplessness.

Do you really want to be the same?

Everyone already knows that after drinking alcohol, a person becomes drunk. It is difficult not to distinguish a drunk person from a sober one - slurred speech, unsteady gait, specific smell. The degree of intoxication is individual for each person. It depends on many factors: age, gender, health, the amount of alcohol drunk and even in what mood the person picked up the glass.

But there are situations when ethanol has no effect on the individual. And even after a copious libation, the intoxicating drink does not take it. For what reasons did alcohol suddenly cease to bring euphoria, a feeling of relaxation, why does a person not get drunk from alcohol? What does this mean and is this syndrome dangerous for health?

If a feeling of intoxication does not come after drinking, this indicates the presence and progression of alcoholism

To deal with such a strange situation that deprives a person of the desired intoxicating feeling, it is necessary to find out what intoxication depends on. What processes occur in the body under the influence of ethanol?

  1. As soon as ethyl alcohol is in the stomach, active processes of its absorption into the bloodstream begin.
  2. Erythrocytes (red blood cells), which are part of the body's defense system, fail before the toxic effects of alcohol. Ethanol breaks their outer coating and successfully mixes with blood cells. The bloodstream quickly distributes ethyl alcohol throughout the internal systems and organs.
  3. Once in the brain cells, ethanol has a detrimental effect on them. As a result, the person experiences feelings of intoxication - slight dizziness, increased mood, unsteadiness of gait, decreased reflexes and problems with speech.

The feeling of joy and euphoria is the result of the activity of the hormones serotonin, dopamine and endorphin. These neurotransmitters are responsible for the expression of joy, pleasure and Have a good mood.

But in the case of intoxication, the surge in the activity of these compounds is a short-term state. The wild fun amid intoxication is replaced by lethargy, weakness and melancholy. The fact is that red blood cells destroyed by ethyl alcohol, entering the bloodstream into brain regions, ruthlessly destroy brain neurons.

The brain is the main target of attack ethyl alcohol

Intoxication is an extremely changeable state, accompanied by the death of many thousands of nerve brain cells. Moreover, damaged receptors are no longer able to recover - they are destroyed forever. What happens next?

  • decomposition of dead areas of the brain begins;
  • small bumps-bubbles with liquid putrefactive contents form in the affected areas;
  • the body is trying with all its might to get rid of tumors, using cerebrospinal fluid;
  • thanks to this, dead and dead cells dissolve, causing powerful pressure to the cerebral cortex.

This pressure leads to the unbearable headache that visits an overdrunk person every morning. Migraines are among the most common symptoms of a hangover.

This is how the process of intoxication occurs. What if it doesn't come? What happens to the body, because some people puzzle themselves with the question of why I drink and don’t get drunk from alcohol. Let's figure it out.

Reason 1: “training”

As a result of prolonged addiction to alcohol-containing products and the massive destruction of brain cells, the cerebral cortex shrinks and decreases in size. By the way, the same reaction, along with alcoholism, is caused by tobacco and drug addiction.

It has been established that if a person regularly drinks alcohol for 4-5 years, the number of neurons in his brain decreases by several thousand. And the brain matter itself becomes 2-3 times smaller compared to the brain of a healthy, non-drinking person.

What happens in this case? The result is a person’s complete immunity to alcohol. A person does not feel the feeling of drunkenness, because the dying off of the surviving neurons is no longer occurring at such a rapid pace; there are too few of them left.

How does alcohol affect the brain matter?

Since these brain receptors are no longer restored after their death, their death occurs at a slower pace. But how then do “brain-drunk” alcoholics even live, walk, communicate, and feel something? The fact is that this happens due to the unique features human body exist in extreme conditions.

But no matter how much the body, damaged by prolonged drunkenness, strives for a normal existence, a person suffering from alcoholism is no longer able to solve serious problems. The level of intelligence of such people is much weaker. And alcohol addicts are no longer able to think rationally as well as they could with a sober lifestyle.

Reason 2: “game of genes”

Trying to explain why you don’t get drunk from alcohol, you can also look for reasons in heredity. But first, let's go through a little physiology. When toxic alcohol enters the body, the first thing that begins to try to fight the toxic environment is the liver.

The reason for rapid alcoholism and immunity to alcohol may be hidden in the absence of alcohol dehydrogenase in the body in some people

The organ actively begins to produce a special enzyme called alcohol dehydrogenase. This compound oxidizes ethyl alcohol, bringing it to the final decomposition products: acetic acid and water.

In small doses, ethyl alcohol can play the role of a natural metabolite, since it produces energy when broken down. But at large doses, ethanol turns into a powerful poison.

This enzyme (alcohol dehydrogenase) may not be produced in all people. Most of all it is observed in the organisms of southern peoples. After all, vineyards have been grown there since ancient times, and people have been drinking natural grape wine since childhood.

But the peoples of the north cannot boast in this regard. Their body is genetically programmed to produce little alcohol dehydrogenase. By the way, some indigenous northerners do not produce this enzyme at all. That is why such nationalities as the Yakuts, Nenets, Sami, Chukchi, Khanty instantly become alcoholics.

And northerners develop addiction even after 100-200 g of alcohol. Well, the natural result is the development of the body’s tolerance (and quite quickly) to alcohol itself and its further immunity.

If you are not one of the peoples of the North, then the inability to get drunk after taking a dose of alcohol should seriously alert you. This suggests that it is high time to visit a narcologist and begin treatment for alcohol addiction, which is rapidly progressing.

The question of why people drink alcohol is usually associated with an attempt to understand the causes of addiction to drinking alcoholic beverages. Not every person who drinks alcohol becomes an alcoholic. Any medicine that is beneficial in small doses becomes poisonous in large doses. The development and spread of the culture of drinking alcoholic beverages is important, especially in our country, where drinking alcohol is practically a national tradition.

Alcohol drinking culture

The tradition of drinking alcohol goes back a long way. The ancient Romans, Vikings and Egyptians made wine and spirits from fermented grape juice. Drinking alcohol accompanied festive feasts, and intoxicating potions were also used in rituals of communicating with spirits. IN ancient Rus' The most popular alcoholic drinks were intoxicated mead and beer. Since the invention of bread vodka in the mid-15th century, taverns have appeared - establishments intended for drinking alcohol.

Why do people drink alcohol

The answer to the question why people drink alcohol lies in the positive feelings and emotions that alcohol causes when consumed in small doses. Ethanol molecules suppress the activity of neurons in the prefrontal and temporal parts of the cerebral cortex, while increasing the activity of dopamine receptors. As a result, rational thinking weakens and psychological barriers are removed. A person becomes relaxed, sociable, disconnects from stress factors, and experiences a feeling of joy, pleasure, and mild euphoria.

Why do you want to drink

The positive effect, once experienced after moderate consumption of alcohol, is consolidated in the subconscious. Alcohol is perceived as a means of relieving stress, elevating mood, and social emancipation. It also has an influence social factor. People who categorically refuse alcoholic beverages, in most cases cause bewilderment and slight hostility among those around them, and with their behavior provoke persuasion to drink a little “for company.”

Reasons for drinking alcohol

In addition to the positive effect, the effect of alcohol on the body causes negative consequences, the main one of which is the risk of developing alcoholism. Alcohol helps cope with stress and difficulties social adaptation, but with regular use it causes depression in some people, which triggers mechanisms of addiction, leading to binge drinking that threatens health and interferes with leading a full life. Becomes topical issue, why do you want to drink alcohol when a person understands that he is prone to alcohol abuse.

Psychological

A number of personality traits, such as lack of self-confidence, increased sensitivity and vulnerability, egocentrism, place their owners at risk of developing alcoholism. Alcohol intoxication at the initial stage makes such people more sociable and relaxed, they feel more confident, and begin to enjoy communication. Presence of psychological difficulties of different nature is a factor answering the question of why a person drinks alcohol.

Social

The role of the influence of the social environment is no less significant. The presence of drinking parents answers the question of why a teenager wants to drink alcohol, who is beginning to grow up and, since childhood, has been watching the adults around him drink strong alcoholic drinks on holidays. A teenager begins to drink because he perceives drinking as an integral part of growing up, but it is forbidden because everyone tells him that drinking is bad.

Physiological

Exist biological factors contributing to the development of alcohol dependence. According to statistics, when genetic predisposition(drinking blood relatives) the risk of developing alcoholism is four times higher. The absence or low amount of a number of enzymes necessary for the metabolism of ethanol products leads to the fact that the body is more susceptible to and has low resistance to alcoholic beverages. In combination with a number of personal characteristics, this factor becomes decisive in the formation of a stable dependence on alcohol.

False reasons for drunkenness

Many myths that surround alcohol use can be considered false reasons why people allow themselves to abuse alcohol. For example, some strong drinks affect blood vessels, expanding or narrowing them (depending on the type of alcohol). This factor is beginning to be used to justify drunkenness, citing the healing effect of alcohol for headaches. Regular beer consumption initial stages indicating everyday promiscuity and ignorance, and not dependence.

Why do people start drinking

The question of why some people drink alcohol without becoming dependent on it, while others should never drink alcohol under any circumstances, worries many specialists who study alcohol addiction and are looking for ways to overcome it. The emergence and development of alcoholism in women and men is influenced by a huge number of factors - their biological and personal characteristics, the lifestyle they lead, the social environment in which they find themselves.

There are several stages of alcohol addiction. From stage to stage, the body's resistance to alcohol decreases (there is withdrawal syndrome and the inability to control the dose of drinking), the need for regular drinking increases, up to the loss of all other desires and complete personal degradation. IN severe stages a person suffering from alcoholism needs professional help to combat his disease.

Many people are interested in the question of why people start drinking. What factors push them to this and is it possible to protect yourself from craving for alcohol?

Most people believe that alcoholism is just a person’s desire to drink, which can be controlled and easily abandoned if something happens. But in reality, everything is not so simple. No alcoholic can stop drinking easily. The reason is that it psychological dependence, which can be treated either with the help of a specialist, or if the person has good willpower and, most importantly, desire.

Due to the fact that the problem of alcoholism now affects almost everyone, the question arises as to why people drink alcohol.

The question about the reasons for the craving for alcoholic beverages is most often asked by women. This does not mean that they cannot be dependent on alcohol, but this disease is much less common among women. Unfortunately, many men like to spend evenings with friends and a bottle of vodka. Although, in many developed countries of Europe, it is considered acceptable when a man after work goes to a bar with friends and drinks a glass of beer there. In our country, such an amount is considered very small, this is only a “warm-up”.

During the research, doctors identified 5 main reasons that push people to drink alcohol:

Having analyzed these factors, you will notice the fact that they go in step with the increasing stage of alcohol dependence. After all, for a person who drinks every day, the basis for drinking cannot possibly be interest or a desire not to stand out from the company. Likewise, in young people who have never tried alcohol, the cause cannot be the relief of hangover symptoms. Therefore, you need to understand that everyone has their own motives.

In addition to the above five main reasons why a person starts drinking, there are a number of not so obvious, but more serious ones. They lie in psychology. After all, if things are going well, there is a friendly family and friends, then it is unlikely that anyone will drink in order to once again feel the feeling of intoxication. Therefore, you need to understand this and be very attentive to your loved ones.

First psychological reason is a feeling of loneliness. When there is no one to talk to about your problems and joys, the desire to drink arises, because then the world seems not so hostile, and this feeling disappears. But only for as long as the state of intoxication is present.

Also, many people come to alcoholism by hiding their shortcomings or self-doubt. If a person has some kind of physical defect (speech, walking), then he is embarrassed by it and feels like an inferior member of society, feels constrained there. Another common reason is for courage (for example, in front of intimacy). When any fears or anxieties are present, a person can also drink to calm them down.

Often there is such an excuse as the desire to achieve relaxation, to defuse the situation. Alcohol actually lifts your mood at first, causing a kind of euphoria.

And when asked why people drink beer, men usually have the same answer: they like the taste of this drink.

In addition to psychological reasons, there are also social reasons:

  • Dissatisfaction with your job or lack of it;
  • Low social status;
  • The tradition of drinking at all holidays and celebrations without exception;
  • Inability to resist a not always friendly society.

The list of these reasons can be continued endlessly. And everyone will have their own individual story, which ends with the person turning into an alcoholic.

Among the above factors of alcoholism, there are a number of those that can be easily refuted.

For example, drinking to lift your mood. The catch here is that the person actually enjoys it, but it ends very quickly. After this, severe depression and irritability arise. It’s enough to drink another glass, and the world will again take on a positive tone.

Also in such a situation, there is a pattern: the greater the amount of alcohol consumed, the stronger the craving for it becomes. IN chronic cases a person is ready to literally cut his throat in order to get his hands on another portion of alcohol. Indeed, if you remember a person who drinks a lot, you can hardly call him happy and in a good mood. Usually it's quite the opposite.

In addition, it should be said that alcoholic euphoria is only available to people who are early stages dependencies. In the latter, these drinks do not cause any good mood, but only create the appearance of improved health, which has long been “planted” here.

If we talk about the fact that alcohol helps to establish relationships with someone, to become more sociable, then we should say about its property of destroying brain cells and slowing down movement nerve cells. In such a situation, a person’s speech is incoherent and illogical. And only an equally drunk man (or woman) will understand him.

The myth that alcohol makes people bolder is easy to dispel if we remember that most suicides, accidents, and crimes are committed while drunk. It would be more correct to say here about the loss of the sense of self-preservation, inadequate perception of the environment.

Alcohol is also not very effective at lifting your mood. This is a short-term process that will very quickly give way to anger, irritability and resentment towards everyone.

To remove the symptoms of a hangover, it would be better to drink a special medicine than a glass of vodka. After all, the body is already trying with all its might to remove the poison, but more is poured into it. The only exception is the situation when it happened. Then a person simply needs a dose of ethyl alcohol, which will neutralize the source of intoxication.

The question of whether it is possible to protect yourself from alcoholism worries many women. After all, they are the ones who most often suffer from this. Usually the man or children drink adolescence. In order to prevent them from developing an addiction, you need to make sure that none of them is present in the life of the family. Frequent feasts (which is generally advisable to avoid) are constantly accompanied by drinking. Instead, you can go to a forest, a park, or another city. Fresh air will benefit your health, and spending time together will bring the family closer together, eliminating psychological factors dependencies.

So, to the question of why men or women drink alcoholic drinks, it is impossible to give a definite answer. The reason is different for each person. In addition, the stage of the disease also affects it. If speak about initial stages, then the excuses for which a person drinks are only psychological or social. This is usually a feeling of misunderstanding and loneliness on the part of society. Therefore, close people should be very attentive to each other, because the consequences can be irreversible.
